The rims, obviously.

Then you may want to ask your Toyota dealership if there's anything that needs to be addressed in the vehicle's computer to ensure the speedometer/odometer and transmission shift points are correct. It will depend on if the outside diameter of the two tires are the same, or if they differ enough to worry about.

Just curious as to why you are wanting to go to 20 inch tires, are the 17 inch tires not expensive enough for you? If you went with 20 inch low-profile tires, I'd imagine the responsiveness of the steering would improve a bit as there'd be less sidewall to flex.

Note, the 2026 4Runners (Premium, and maybe other trims) come with 265/55-20 tires. But I don't know if their outside diameter is the same as the 17 or 18 inch options.

So the wifey's 2024 TRD off road 4Runner came with 17 inch tires. Can we change to 20 inch? What type of other things need to change?
The ride will get rougher with the shorter/stiffer sidewalls.

Assuming rolling diameter of the tires is the same, it's doubtful you have to change anything.

Lots of people have issues upsizing TIRE SIZE. They rub, through the speedo off, can raise heck with the newer computer controlled transmissions and variable timing systems. Only time I've seen the rim size be an issue is trying to downsize the rims and having an issue not clearing the brakes.
