Sounds like you won’t be blocked, but no services, no fires, no hookups, no trash service, no toilets. If there’s no park rangers there probably nobody to kick you out. It’s a shame.

What does that actually mean? Are they blocking people from using those public lands or are they stating that no services or amenities will be available? Can people still camp there, but the fish cleaning station and electrical hookups won't be working as an example.
Exactly. This seems more retaliatory like they did during covid. Do I need a “camp host” to camp? No….. if they want to shut down employees or amenities fine but the bells and whistles and the pretending it actually affects people putting up a fkn tent pulling up a camper seems a bit extreme.

Nonsense. This is called the Firemen First Principle. Dropping high profile services to garner political leverage.
100%…. It’s call manipulation and gaslighting. The “see we told you this would happen” crowd….. manipulation to push a desired outcome.

We always called it malicious compliance in the Army.

But seriously they just don’t have any staff. My friend’s daughter was a park ranger in Pick City last year. She and most others were let go and told to re-apply when it opened back up. But the federal hiring freeze is ongoing. Now, if they started claiming the boat ramps were off limits, then I’d say it’s political shenanigans.

If any of these things bother you to the point of not camping….. you aren’t camping….. you are glamping…..

I rarely camp in ND. When I do, it’s nice to have water and electricity since there’s toddlers with. And a place to dump the tanks when we leave.

But pardon me Trip, I’ll try to do things more your way. Didn’t know it wasn’t allowed.

That is not correct. The campground at Totten is gated closed from late September through May, so they will leave it closed and this popular facility will sit idle.

This proves my point…. You are describing amenities. These arent needs, especially as it pertains to camping. If it keeps you from camping and taking the toddlers out then that’s unfortunate. At one time camping was done in tents with no water or electricity. How did they ever survive or enjoy themselves…. Those primitive savages 😳

Good point. Hopefully they are “partially” closed and they leave the gate open but yeah we’ll see.

Then what are you upset about? This won’t affect you at all.
😆 who said im upset 🤷🏼 I could care less. I realize they are doing it as a poor me political stunt. I have no problem camping the old fashioned way. Im just calling it what it is.

I mean you lay off the cooks and janitors at a restaurant and I don’t think they’d stay open either. I’d also argue that laying them off was a stunt itself.
