Why do they have so many officers....well that would be so when a huge group of natives come down to try and get through the cops have enough people to not be put in an instantly bad position by being cutoff and way out numbered.
Makes no sense? Not sure what you mean.

Its been a few years but did all the time down there in the 2000's. See people all the time right by the bridge driving right to the water, theres no difference.

By who, bet was CORPS. A CORP guy tried to chase us off the beach about 2 years ago on the 4th of July. Tried, we moved vehicle above high water mark. I think I was gone and came back and left my truck on the beach. Then we blasted the fire works. In the Yates area there are tents n fires all the time.

In 2002, I bet there was a burn ban on, severe drought if I remember right.

just heard on 600 news that the injunction decision by federal court has been moved until 8 sept. Was my understanding the pipeline co. was going back to work on 25th, will have to see what they do. All I can say is hold on to your beer and watch this $H!%, see what happens, the pipeline co. is only gonna hold off so long. Expect the river recreation areas shut down to be close for the long term, into when the river would normally pick up the fall bite is my guess. dukgnfsn

I would not bet on them staying closed because all it will take is a little lawsuit and there closure will be extremely hard to defend. They can defend the camping ban but not the outright closure of places that are many miles away. I also see now this weekend McLean bottoms will be closed as well so they can do whatever the hell it is they were planning on doing leaving no gun ranges and onlr one ramp!;:;banghead

If we're DAPL I'd just move my bore back farther.
screw that just drill it in from the east side no ones over there. Hell they may well be doing that aready since they only said they were stoping work on the west side they never said they were stopping work on the crossing.

You cant see the benefit of having more then a couple cops there in the event a large group of angry protesters shows up? Sure you wont need most of them most of the time but you damn well better have them there if that time does come! As many threats as have been thrown out im all for these guy doing it the safest way possible!

No, I can't see Still makes no sense.

1. Closing the road is stupid in the first place
2. 12 or 2 cops won't make a difference a large group shows up.
3. They're blocking traffic Waaaaayyyyyy to far from the protest.

Seems to me they are trying to turn the public against the protesters by taking away access to public facilities and wasting money.

Ok your talking about two different things here so stay on point. The point is number of offcers at the closure point not where it is. If you cant understand why its safer to have more guys especially after what has happened in resent months to other officers at other protests then you realing are living in a different world.

Now as for the where and why of course thats why they did it like they did and its also why i would bet it will be obliterated if brought up in court. Nothing else all they would have to do is sue under the Interstate Commerce Act. They do that the barricades may still be up but I would bet they'll be a shit ton south of fort rice compared to where they are now. There is undoubtedly privet businesses being efected by this that will have legitimate cases against the state for overuse of authority.

[FONT=&quot]North Dakota’s homeland security director ordered the removal of state-owned trailers and water tanks from the Dakota Access Pipeline protest campsite Monday, citing mounting reports of unlawful activity -- the latest involving lasers -- and the risk of damage.

[FONT=&quot]“Based on the scenario down there, we don’t believe that equipment is secure,” Homeland Security Division Director Greg Wilz said.

[FONT=&quot]As tribal members from across the nation streamed into the campsite, swelling its population to between 500 to 4,000 people depending on estimates, the loss of their main drinking water supply came as a blow and sent local officials scrambling to find an alternative water source.

Is it corp. I believe it privately owned at least a poration of it. Failure of nd st gov and Morton co to let it get this big. 35w had more protestors same date and they removed them forcibly. Now we have to spend my tax dollars to send cass co to try to play cleanup.

i read the article, but missed a couple things... they said it was their land and their water, but failed to mention where to send my mowing and snow removal bill to... if they own the water, i guess they own the rain and snow too???

this is really getting stupid... time for someone in charge to grow a pair and give a history lesson...

If the "professional" protesters are showing up, someone is sure to drop a peace pipe. My money says this ends by accidental grass fire. Again, hope no one gets hurt.
