i agree with u rowdie and dean, i guess what i am saying is the past sucked and i cant agree with alot of what happened, i guess my point is people like myself abd many others didnt have anything to do with it and we have to pay the price for it. when i started my adult life in my 20s i didnt have a pot to piss in. i worked hard and started to make better choices and gained respect from those around me. that all was accomplished from opportunity. the same opportunity many of the younger indians have today. and argueably indians and blacks probably have more opportunity than i did with all the grants and minority fuunding today. my parents and grand parents have given me nothing in way of white privaledge. they gave me a good mind and taught me to work hard and an attitude that if i want respect in this world i have to go out and earn it. i understand its easy for me to say forget about the past, we need to move forward but it kind of is what im saying. alot of indians i feel are living and dwelling on the past, maybe rightfully so, but in doing so they are missing out on opportunity for the future and their childrens future. i have no problem and no hatred in my heart for any man who will work there ass off and sieze any opportunity to better thenmselves. black red white pink purple or blue. i do have a problem with those who wont. a good buddy at work is part indian and i have nothing but respect for the guy. not because he is a hard working indian but because he is a man who has earned his respect and will sieze any opporrunity to advance his life.

So does this mean we come rolling in with 5th wheels and satellite dishes to our camp ground since that's how we traditionally camp?

I'd say shut down traffic into and out of the reservations and shut down the casinos in the state, but I'm not an jobless anarchist asshole.

The q remains why cross where the river is wider vs narrower. Common sense would pu t that line above bismarck. I would hate to be an investor

There is a 1000 other miles to the pipeline. It's not as simple as where is this particular river narrowest.

I read an article that had a few reasons why they decided to move it. One was they have to 500 feet from occupied buildings, and Bismarcks water intake was mentioned. I'll see if I can find it n post it.

Could be this is a really expensive pipeline. Let's draw as straight of a line as possible. Could be let's avoid population centers.

It's going to be 100ft below the riverbed besides all the liners, monitors etc.

Get N of Bismarck and there's an awful lot of river bottom farmland that is likely exponentially more expensive to lease across than the pasture land currently being dug.

I've told people around here that the no one wants the pipeline to leak, especially the ones who have to pay if it does.

That question was answered long ago and is extremely obvious. If something were to go wrong and they had to supply water to effected homes and businesses what would cause less problems taking out the the supply for 800 people or 100,000 people!

I am quite certain racism was the main factors

yes... with the current lack of oversight and regulation, these publicly held companies need to spend their p r, legal, and advertising budgets somewhere...
