This year may be like 2013 in blue plate country where the fishing opener had lots of ice on northern lakes yet. The Governor had to take to rivers around the Park Rapids area as area lakes were still ice covered mid May for fishing opener.
Mother Nature needs an attitude adjustment that is for sure!!!
Just looked to see how common it is to still be this wintery and we had as much or more snow left at this point in just about an every other year setup. Worked out to be 09,11,13,15 and now 18 although I don't remember it being so continuously cold where it feels more like February than it does April.

good God that's three weeks out so better be flipping warm by them or I'm going to start getting pissed. Hell our average high by then is going to be in the mid-60s approaching 70 so it better be above freezing.

The average high for April 23 is 61 degrees in Bismarck so even that forecast is below average.

I'd agree dean that it's pretty common for us to have snow on the ground in April but this really seems like an extended spell of cold weather; we really haven't had more than a couple good melting days in a row this spring which is pretty unusual. Kevin Lawrence on kfyr mentioned something on the news last night that this is looking like the coldest April since 1997.

14 day outlook --- puts the dark dark blue in our area and now to the WEST. So much for the movement east. I am extremely busy this time the year and could give a rats you know what about the weather. But April 20th ---- i am going to hit hard water hard. I havent iced since early January and i am looking foward to it. I am also looking foward to burning hot summer with no wind --- i hope it happens. It keeps the riff raff off the lake and the walleye bite on bottom bouncers even better then.

This "spring" is just nuts...think we'll get one of those years where we go from 40 to 80 within about a weeks time!

Please share where you are finding the totals for next week after this storm. I am still a little skeptical about the snow this Sunday after last week. Everything was lining up to get decent snow here in the SW part of the state. Early was 5-8", then it went to 3-5", then 2-3". We ended up with 1/2". But we were up north of Minot for Easter and we got about 3" out at the farm. Sure wish the Tropical Tidbits models would start showing moisture in green vs. blue.

Oh well....at least we should a good lake level for when it counts.
