Wierd thing pheasant hunting yesterday.

We were walking a large patch of CRP, when a mallard hen flushed out of the tall grass. The nearest water was at least 300 yards away.

Headed back to the truck the other evening; stepped out of a coulee and this: (scared the hell out of me)

kid saw a 1/2 grown duckling the other day, maybe the hen mallard was on yet another nest?
