Windlass Tip ups

Anyone ever try them for pike? I would think that the jigging action would really trigger the pike to bite. Anyone know of any problems with them other than the line freezing because the spool is above water?

Ive had one for over 10 years...works great. had a pike on it today but he got into a log and lost him. only downside is if its cold the hole freezes, otherwise its always windy...

I use em all the time. Love em. Wont really use them when its really cold for obvious reasons. But if its warm enough for me to fish outside, I just walk the line so often and scoop the ice back out of the hole.
