I actually got checked at 6 mile bay boat ramp yesterday.

you get checked they hone in on the trailer, I see a couple zebras up by the trolling motor - the dude never seen em -laying in plain sight on the bow. Its a waste of $$$ to check imo

Once these clean a lake of its ickiness what do they feed on? Wouldn't the Zebras then clear themselves out?

If you meant the shellcrackers and gobies, I'd speculate the bream would switch diets and the gobies would predominately become forage; maybe switching to crayfish. Again, I'm thinking a few sterile paddle fish to filter out larvae...

Positive "invasives" include the ringneck pheasant, Hungarian partridge, "rainbow"/brown trout and now we're supposed to accept European carp as assimilated. For the most part "we" like the trout; don't like carp and enjoy exotic opportunities like zander in Spirit Wood and barramundi in Florida private lakes.

Paddlefish/shellcrackes/gobies: No poison: Manage the food chain. Keep fishing interesting.

Show me one state that has stopped the spread of zebra muscles?? Only way to maybe stop it is to completely ban all boats, and even then I doubt it would work over time, we will get them in all our water eventually

Nothings gonna stop the turtles or waterfowl traveling from lake to lake
