Anybody ever ask the guy that's paying the taxes on the real estate what he thinks?

No, but I asked the guy who uses his 20 plus foot ice castle as a "warming house" for drying grain, and even he doesn't want this bill to pass.

person 1 - Hey look, those criminals are ripping the no-trespassing signs off the posts!
person 2 - Should we go arrest them?
person 1 - No. Let's get the state government involved so they can pass a bill making the sign unnecessary

Sound logic

If you remember the early days of the protest the state health dept. was handing out sleeping bags at the protest camps.

He likes to stir the pot but he neeeevvvveer wants to swap total property tax liabilities..............;)

Carry on.
cant imagine you would even bring that up. The price you pay per acre is trivial compared to me. Maybe we should compare welfare payments from the federal government

since I no longer own a business I don't get to write off business real estate. You do. Anytime you want to go residential to residential we can do that. I wouldn't be surprised if my home property taxes is close to what you pay for your land taxes. You'd have to own at least ten quarters to get close based on what the average is in your county for land taxes. So do you own at least ten quarters?

This bill is getting rediculous. On both sides. I think we need the landowner/hunter relationship and that includes private land to hunt on. On the other hand though in recently it's gotten a lot more hostile to be a landowner when it comes to approaching hunters. In the last year I've had only 3 groups accually come and ask permission to hunt or to ask if I knew where a good place to go. I appreciated this and I'll always talk to these guys again and give permission. These OTHER situations I've gone through have given me little faith in how people treat the country. 1. Last year I had 3 hunters set up decoys 100 yards from my shop, which is least a half mile off the road. I got a f' off when I told them to leave because the land was not posted... 2. During deer hunting I watched a group of guys chase down and kill a deer, then dump it in a slough... btw I did call a game warden and nothing was done... but I approached the hunters which were on my posted land and they told me they were coyote hunting and flipped me off. Kicked them outa the area another 3 times that season. And the final senerio was this year my wife was walking the dog and a group decided to shoot a pheasant in our yard run to get it and drive off with her maybe 20 yards away.... now this does not represent many hunters probably a tiny percentage but when reading comments here where guys are mad at the land owners..... you guys might wanna rethink and maybe take another approach on how to go about hunting. Most of us land owners will give permission and be happy to meet hunters, but posting comments about taking away gratis liscenses, and how much land taxes a guy pays is pretty pathetic. There's a big reason more and more Land is becoming posted. I hope your hunting groups figure that out because it's pretty obvious, before in a future year this no trespass bill passes

If this passes, I think it's time to also get rid of gratis deer tags and also the landowner elk tags.

eye, you whine about property tax yet want to make caveats when someone offers to swap property tax liabilities. That's the simple truth. the offer stands if you wish to swap property tax liability for property tax liability.

talking with a friend it seemed it was split 50-50 tht is far more than ever before.

No one showed up to investigate it.... and cpete00 what's your reasoning behind that. I understand you guys are angry about if it would pass because it would take time and effort to get on land but gratis liscenses shouldn't have anything to do with the topic. Again I will make this clear I'm against this bill but to blame landowners is not the right way of going about this. If it wasn't for the hunting season I would be all for the bill. It's our right to have a say who is on our property. I highly doubt that this bill is centered around landowners not wanting hunters on their land. There's way more to this then that.

Livetohuntandfish unfortunately that's the world we live in today. Everyone is treating others with less respect than we did 20 years ago. I had my grandson in the Badlands deer hunting. He had his buck down a half mile from the road, and I just had a Stent in my heart three days before. We drove into a ranch yard to ask about the entrance to the trail 200 yards from the deer. The gate into the yard was posted, but we were not hunting, only driving to his house. The fellow came in behind at a very high rate of speed. He asked if we were F blindI explained we were not hunting only looking for information from a local. He said if I wanted to talk to him call then he could not answer. I explained why I wanted to get closer to the deer and he said he didn't care if I F died. His face was red and he was shaking like a mad man. We left and parked along the road to get ready for the pack out. Here his white Escalade comes flying up the road. With my grandson along I worried about this guy. Where he could not see me I jacked a round into my conceased 9mm. As we met he apologised and said he over reacted. He explained that the power company had an easement to drive off the road and that was the trail we seen. He said we could use his son in laws four wheeler. I thanked him but declined driving off the trail even to retrieve on gov land. In the end I guess there were no hard feelings on either side, but it sure was crazy for a couple of minutes. You are right hunters and farmers need each other, but this trespass bill is hatred of hunters because it will have no affect on protestors. The respect has become so lacking that I worry that a landowner will give permission, then call the warden and say he did not.
