I think livetohuntandfish needs to start getting plates and filing charges. Must live surrounded by d-bags.
Livetohuntandfish unfortunately that's the world we live in today. Everyone is treating others with less respect than we did 20 years ago. I had my grandson in the Badlands deer hunting. He had his buck down a half mile from the road, and I just had a Stent in my heart three days before. We drove into a ranch yard to ask about the entrance to the trail 200 yards from the deer. The gate into the yard was posted, but we were not hunting, only driving to his house. The fellow came in behind at a very high rate of speed. He asked if we were F blindI explained we were not hunting only looking for information from a local. He said if I wanted to talk to him call then he could not answer. I explained why I wanted to get closer to the deer and he said he didn't care if I F died. His face was red and he was shaking like a mad man. We left and parked along the road to get ready for the pack out. Here his white Escalade comes flying up the road. With my grandson along I worried about this guy. Where he could not see me I jacked a round into my conceased 9mm. As we met he apologised and said he over reacted. He explained that the power company had an easement to drive off the road and that was the trail we seen. He said we could use his son in laws four wheeler. I thanked him but declined driving off the trail even to retrieve on gov land. In the end I guess there were no hard feelings on either side, but it sure was crazy for a couple of minutes. You are right hunters and farmers need each other, but this trespass bill is hatred of hunters because it will have no affect on protestors. The respect has become so lacking that I worry that a landowner will give permission, then call the warden and say he did not.
so are you saying you own ten quarters or more? Or not?
I hope people understand that of course you pay more yours is worth millions more and you perhaps pay slightly more in taxes. For every dollar eyexer pays you pay a dime. What I am saying is I would be willing to swap what our farm/ranch pays in total property tax liability for what you pay in total property tax liabilities.
Glad you liked it. My grandson packed the head, and I packed the meat.Nice rhetoric though.......

It would have been nicer if someone had not shot off the right front fork opening week-end. Maybe he broke it fighting.once again you are doing what you accuse other people of doing, not answering the question. ;:;rofl#Alwayswiththestories
You seem to have a higher than ususal run in with angry ranchers with all your stories plains...........
Nice rhetoric though.......

That is not really that hard to comprehend.
As you have declined that offer every time it as been presented I guess you will do so again so there really is nothing more to discuss.
If you change your mind let me know.
your not the only one that wonders that. And the property taxes on homes keeps up with valuations at an immediate rate pretty much. I know land up north that sold for two or three times what it did just a few years ago but I would bet my next paycheck that the valuations at the county didn't change. Why do business people in town pay real estates taxes on both their business and personal home while farmers ranchers only pay on the business? Db

And then Why would g&f give me a preference at age 70 to help with my 8 rejected muzzle tags in a row? Db
:;:exactly:;:cheersonce again you are doing what you accuse other people of doing, not answering the question. ;:;rofl

so how am I supposed to make an educated guess on whether I want to exchange property taxes with you if I don't have an any idea how much land you own. You obviously have a reason you don't wish to share. Either you don't own ten acres or your ashamed of how much you own etc. I've been very open with what I pay in property taxes. You seem to have to hide what you pay.eye, it matters little how many quarters our operation owns you are avoiding accepting the offer.
no only actual farmers are privy to these perksHouse goes up each year but land I believe is based on a rental cost by numbers from our land grant school not current sale prices.
land at 7-800 per quarter guess I could trade for 4 quarters and break even with a taxable value home in a small town of $130000.
rules were made a long time ago when there were more farmers ranchers making them but has not always been the way it is today. Db

There are some who build there home in the country even on 160 acres thinking they will pay like a farmer. Surprise, surprise. Db
I don't know what the criteria for this. But I don't think it has anything to do with what the off farm income is. I suspect over fifty percent of the family income has to be from farming activity. There is a guy in Williston that owns 30,000 acres. He farms 12,000 of it himself. But he owns numerous other non farm business's etc. Fifty percent of his income isn't from farming if you can believe that. So he doesn't even qualify for the federal farm programs. I about shit when he told me that.I also wonder with the ruling if a farmer and his wife make more than 40000 in off-farm income there home is no longer exempt is enforce. A lot of wives have full time jobs with incomes over 40000. Db

Or for that matter when the schedule F shows no profit but the wife makes a few bucks of non- farm income the house is not exempt. Db

In my life I have seen a lot of the above and as a land owner who post the few acres I have I hope this bill fails. Db

Information is on the app that is filled out each year to get the exemption.

I talked to a guy today that dabbles in cattle with a couple other guys. He is just the money guy so to speak. The other two have pasture land. One is down by rapid city the other by wing. They were at an auction south of Mandan over the weekend. they bought two bulls. He said the ranch sold 200 or so bulls and they averaged just over 8K a piece. That's a hell of a pay day. I had no idea bulls were worth that kind of money.PG if the schedule f shows low or zero the pella grants come out and the list goes on along with the earn income credit.
not hard to get the income down on a schedule f if that is what you want and with the way farming ranching is going it has become easier.
A lot of risk in farming and the rewards can be great. Anybody that has had dirt run through his hand understands.
It is what it is. Db
