Yep another back surgery is scheduled for tomorrow. Couldn't hold off any longer and sure hope i don't miss my daughter's wedding in October.
Have been crawling on hands and knees for over a week and just kept getting worse. The drive to Vegas will be a tough one but hope i can do it.
Just my luck i guess.

How many is this for you? And best of luck of course. I had my first at 29 after five-six years of pain with no recovery in sight. I'm 32 now, but I'm starting to get some of those minor symptoms in the beginning of my initial back pains.

I can't complain too much though.... after surgery my life has been great and I've been able to do a lot of things I would've never imagined (12-mile ruck marches, 10 mile runs). I train much smarter than I used to, but some things you just can't avoid by occupation!

Yuk. Had my first back surgery 3 years ago at the age of 31. My first year after surgery was pretty good, but been downhill ever since. Can't even get my socks on some days. For me, I did find a therapist that has helped and have made huge improvements in the last two months. I also have been to the Dirty Mike clinic of Chiropractic care enough times and he has helped a ton. Some days I haven't been able to stand up straight and after a visit or two with him, he's got me back to normal.

agree with BRK, I just started getting back in the gym and definitely training smarter now.

You've gone to the chiropractor? Incredible, I wouldn't ever dare think of that. I used to go pre-surgery and it always made me feel worse.... I also quit golfing, playing baseball, or anything that twists/torques my back in any kind of inappropriate way.

I don't think I've ever met anyone who has only had their back cut once, and its good now.

Yeah, but I don't go all the time, just when something is really out of place. When I can't stand up straight, I know it's time for some help. Also have a really good massage therapist, that has broke up the scar tissue and am finally getting some mobility back.

Like you, I quit playing golf, bowling, softball, etc. Trying to protect my back, but I still want to live life.

BBJ, Good luck with surgery and for a rapid recovery. As someone with back issues as well, a lot of use can relate. Best wishes!

Good luck. I had a lumbar laminectomy on the lower about 6 years ago. Got me walking after I hit the floor atleast. That's about all I can do today, at a good gimp. Lucky to stand straight lol. I know your troubles. Also have degenerative disk disease along with 3 herniated disks. Fuck ya good times. They wanna fuse me I told em I"ll crawl around instead no thanks.

I've got back issues myself and my wife has been after me for the past 2 years to have surgery on it, but after reading these posts about it only lasting a short white I think I'll stick to getting the injections every six months or so since it seems to be working for now.

Let me tell you, anyone with previous back surgery isn't turned into a pretzel. And if I do any kind of manual manipulation, there is a very small amount of force used. Just to clear the air here.

When I go in for neck adjustment and my good friend Dave in Wahpeton gives my neck a good cracking I wiggle my fingers and toes and tell him I am just checking he didn't break my neck. Pisses him off but funny.

Aww crap BBJ. God Speed on your trip and prayers are with you. I go in on Friday for my first neck surgery - they are removing the discs between C5-6 and C6-7. Going to fuse 5-6-7. They say 6-10 weeks in a neck brace.

I will be praying for you BBJ -
