I was 5 yrs old and remembering my Mom crying as we were watching TV.

I do remember President Ford. Also, I remember my elementary school music teacher (kinda had the hots for her) crying the day Elvis died.

I was working at Haybusters in Jamestown when Elvis died. I was having lunch and listening to John Rubie on KFYR when the news broke.

Wife and my sister saw Elvis live in Salt Lake in July of '74.

I'm just barely old enough to recall Bugs Bunny, Loony Tunes, and Heckle-and-Jeckle cartoons that perpetuated all manner of racial stereotypes.

Wonder how many MINUTES Archie Bunker would make it on TV in todays world? What a good show! Lighten up folks. Its a comedy.

After watching a lot of Archie Bunker it took a little getting used to watching In The Heat Of Night.

How about Sanford and Son and the Jeffersons they were all good comedy's to and we didn't think anything about racism

Archie Bunker was created by Norman Lear. The biggest liberal in Hollywood at the time. He created the character to ridicule conservative, uneducated, white men. The message was quite subversive, as most of us thought Archie was created to champion our beliefs.
