I'm not a big gambler but I like me some Texas holdem . I play on wireclub.com for peanuts and it's the best poker site out there that I have found. If anyone else enjoys playing , what site do you like and any interest in a game or two ? I'm kinda laid up at the moment and have nothing but time on my hands.

Not sure why that matters but I'm close to lake Metigoshe . I just play online usually in the winter months.

I like face to face poker too but it's time consuming . Online I can sit down for a break and play a few hands and away I go about my business. No miles to drive is a good thing for me.

Bismarck area, I don’t play online or in casinos…just friendly games
That's how I started , friendly games when I was a kid with my dad and a bunch of old timers every deer season and a couple more times a year , it was a hoot playing with them and a wide variety of games. Then one by one we buried the old folks and I played friendly games with guys my own age up till covid hit and that fizzled out and we never got back into it again. I have never played at a casino either but tried online and hated it because of the free chips and people going all in with nothing. I mention that this isn't even poker the way they were playing and some guy told me about wireclub poker so I checked it out and it's a lot of fun. You get a few free chips at first and once in a while a free bingo card or slot machine credits and it keeps a guy going if you are good at cards so people play wisely like they are real chips and it's a lot of fun. Guys and gals from all over the world but mostly from US , Canada and Australia and very friendly . I didn't like texas holdem poker but it's all there is so I adapted and met some pretty good old boys through table talk . If you ever get bored it might be worth watching a few hands.

The old timers used to play with wooden farmer matches for chips , full length match was a penny and break it in half was 1/2 of a cent. Tighter than fiddlesticks and the story was that two of them got into a heated argument over a half of a cent for a long time once . That was before I started playing with them but when I played it was nickel anti and 25 cent limit. Those were the good ol days.

We used to have a game just a few houses down from mine. $20 buy in n have a 1 or 2 (sometimes) table of guys for a little tourney. Top 2 guys split it often so we could play another.

I tried Global last night , 👍👍👍👍👍 It is way better than what I was expecting. I didn't take the time to figure how navigate around , I found a low blind table and sat down and didn't realise it was Omaha poker and I'd never played it before . The currency was the hard part to figure out but I was having fun anyway . I played about an hour and it was bedtime and one guy was betting big and bluffing so I called a big bet with Ace high flush and he had a boat so I quit . I thought I'd lost all my chips but just looked at the site to learn a little and noticed I still had 115K GC whatever that means ?? Thanks for the heads up, In the hot months I work early and late and take the hot afternoons off and sit in my office so this will be interesting .

On global there is SC (sweeps coins) and GC (gold coins). The SC is real money redeemable straight to your bank account and the GC is just play money. On the top right you can toggle from SC real money games to GC play money games. The site is very trustworthy with your funds. If you ever cash out it only takes a couple days to hit your account. I cash out all the time. Have been playing there quite awhile. Under the SC tab of games there are freerolls in the evenings you can join for no cost where you will win real money if you wanna try your luck. Credit cards and debit cards both work to deposit if you wish to dabble in real money games.

I'd dabble . From what I see the players there aren't as savvy as what I've been playing with on the other site . I'm pretty much computer illiterate so I've been trying to authenticate my profile since I signed up . How many chips does a fella get for signing up ? I don't know what I started with but thinking back , there was a buy in so that explains why I called an all in and still have chips. I should have figured all this stuff out before playing but I wanted to test the water. And tournaments too, That is a dandy poker site compared to where I've been playing. Sad thing is , I built up a lot of chips on that site and pretty sure I won't be playing there anymore. My only option is to give them away and not look back.

Cold days in the winter are my huckleberry for online poker. but hot afternoons work too as long as I get my work done early and late. either way I can't take the heat or cold like I used to. I've played from 2200 till breakfast time a few times when the weather is bad , usually against aussies and they are a hoot, friendly chaps. I can imagine this site is busy all night long.

Not sure if you've ever heard of twitch but....every night global poker streams tournaments at 7pm. Usually a different person every night. Might be helpful for ya to get to know the site. Www.twitch.tv/globalpokerlive.com is the link. Good little community of poker players. They do giveaways all night also. Free tournament entries.
