The scary part of these operations showing up in our states is they’re taking advantage of a weakness but selling us on positives. There is a reason they are here and they’ll like exploit us and use the power we have until we all have generators. Just my guess.

Your exactly right they take advantage of the excess power and low population density and county board and city planners who just see the increase in tax base(to spend on stupid shit) but dont care about the negative impact and the reason people live where we do.

Prior to 9/11/2001, there were very small generators that produced electricity through radioactive decay being planned for commercial installs at rural homes. If I remember correctly, they were supposed to cost around $20-$40k and last for 50 years. I haven't heard squat on them since.
Thats when the govt pretty much shut down any innovation with nuclear. Up until the last few months we didnt even have any American companies that could enrich uranium we had to send it out to do that

Just north of the softball diamonds ?
they said south/east of Harwood - so I suspect it is in that general area, yes. Two big power lines intersect a mile east of there too.

hopefully it doesn’t cause Cty 31 traffic to increase much. 🤮

getting onto 20 from 31 is already a PITA at times.

Seems like some are happy and others not so happy.

nobody’s stopping anything with $3B behind it 😆

I’d be absolutely astonished if they did!

Just the construction traffic alone will blow your mind

We not too recently had an Amazon facility built on the I-94 and I-29 interchange near our place. It’s bigger than this AI installation (sq footage wise anyway)

And the FM diversion project is going on not too far north and west of Harwood. 😆

Love the change in scenery - sorta like those poor Bakken folks went through.

Sorta - the Bakken change was awful in comparison. 😔

Here is the one north of Jamestown on Highway 20. Thing of beauty like those fucking wind towers. Look at that substation...

Nice conspiracy theory, but really just bad timing. Minnkota Power raised their electric rates at their annual meeting in February, for the first time in over a decade. It is up to the local electric coops to set the rates for you, their customer.
