not for a boat but on one of my motorcycles i put an antigravity lithium-ion battery and when it senses a constant drain like over winter it shuts off. in the spring there is a button switch you depress and resets and you have a charged battery.
I put a li-time in my 36 volt cart that is used to putt around the camp ground. If I remember right it was about $600 with a charger. Seems to work well for that purpose.I have a 48volt golf cart that takes 8 6 volt batteries, that is a $2,000 bill every 5-6 years.
Would this new lithium ordeal fix this sonofabitching expense?

UPDATE. I bought the 36v 100ah for my ulterra. 36v 21ft nitro. Absolutely awesome, I would charge every 3-4 trips but only because I felt like I should. I don’t think I ever had it below 20%
I also got a 12v 100ah to run my 3 graphs and livewell on. I would go with the 140ah for that so I could run 3 full days instead of 2. Overall Im happy with them. Now the biggest question will be, to see how they survived the winteI take it you bring them indoors?

Couple hrs of removal time is worth it for the investment and piece of mind.I take it you didn't bring them indoors?
I was hearing conflicting reports so I took mine out of the boat..pain in the ass. If I could leave them in the cold storage garage though I sure would. Especially now that I am running 5 of the things!
Nope didn’t even unplug them, there is a master power on/off that you can switch on your phone I believe though. But I don’t think I did that even. All I did was charge them up goodI take it you didn't bring them indoors?

what was the cost to convert from lead acid to lithium? Now that I have well over 10 trips on my boat with the new LiTime batteries, figured I would give a review. The three 140ah batteries might be a little overkill. I have fished some long days in big wind and the lowest that I have seen these batteries is 75%. Most trips the batteries are still on 90% when I get home. I am impressed to say the least, and have had no issues.
for larger batteries it seems like they are about $2 / amp hour, last I checked.what was the cost to convert from lead acid to lithium?
I paid 782.66 total (shipping and taxes included) for three 12v 140Ah LiTime batteries. They are the bluetooth ones so they can be monitored with the app. This was over black friday, they are a little more now.what was the cost to convert from lead acid to lithium?
Seems I've read some things that some outboards aren't recommended to have lithium cranking batteries, idk.I have always run the electronics and pumps, yadda off the lead acid starter battery. Worrying about running low and possibly not starting was a PITA. Or V drop when I started would kill my graphs. Grrr.
I'm going to take the dive into FFS, so now I will really be taxing the starter battery and I knew I need a solution.
I was going to buy a 100ah lithium and dedicate it to running electronics, pumps, etc. Was thinking also that I would add a DC-DC charger to charge the lithium while running the outboard. It was all getting complicated and expensive.
Then I accidentally stumbled onto the dual starter/deep battery from LiTime (12V 165ah dual purpose group 31) and I had to order it. I'll simply replace the old 12V lead acid and move on with my life.
Now my only problem will be figuring out how many more things I might want to run off of it that I never ran before due to capacity concerns. Ideas include comfort fans for when I'm hot, a bait chiller or refrigerator/cooler thingy, etc. The possibilities are endless! Hahaha.
probably some older engines alternators arent designed to charge lithium batteries, I asked ai about it and it said that most newer ones are ok, except I think it said yamaha chargers/alternators arent compatible with some lithium batteries.Seems I've read some things that some outboards aren't recommended to have lithium cranking batteries, idk.
