Shooting rudies in the AM, about 20 of us headed to the secret honey hole.
Didn't get a tag this year, so probably see the monster tomorrow.
Thats usual how it works juan...no tag, see the deer of a lifetime, always as been that way .....lol....or all buck tags and they see does...vice versa...of course

3 in my family had tags: 1 buck and 2 doe tags. Got the buck (smaller 4x4) and one of the does last Saturday and got the 2nd doe tonight. Hunted 3 days total. This was in 2D

We have pretty good hunting ground in the western part of the state. None of us has taken a deer these past two seasons, id say 95% of the whitetails were wiped out by ehd. Never should have been a season for them in our unit. So I decided to just buy preference points and go up and hunt Canada for two weeks instead. Just got done with day 5, seeing quite a few deer but winter has come early again like last year and its taking its toll. The wolves have even moved out of the big bush and are killing them in the wide open. Shot a coyote eating off a wolf kill the first morning at 209 yds with the muzzleloader that was a poke! One more day of muzzleloader season then its on to rifles, some good friends from this site are even coming up this year! Going to be allot of fun I'm sure, good luck down there fellas!

Wildlife activity has slowed down a lot at my place. Only seen a cotton tail since the ice storm. No deer or pheasants in the yard during the daylight hours.

We have one of three tags filled. We saw a lot more deer this past weekend than opening weekend. Nothing really big and the smaller ones were chasing. Hopefully the big boys will come out to play this weekend.

It is tough I have waterfowl, upland hunted all over state it is tough for sure put on alot of miles walking and deer chasing with sons friends. Glad I bought points for kid and I finally have enough points to draw muley buck and might wait couple more. I even have ground no one gets to hunt too. Helped many farmers clean out tree rows with deer last year.
