funny thing is though, the reservoir just upstream is codette... we would go there on bad weather days and get our "take home fish" at 21" or less, and lots of 10" perch... same water, just on the upside of the dam...

on the tobin side of the dam we would also catch saugers up to 16", but never saw one in slower water like we do in sak...

Probably doesn't have the massive forage base of Tobin. From what I have gathered is Tobin has a strong cisco(tullibee) population. Is it shallower than Tobin?

It is what it is. A client of mine showed me two teener pictures today at work. Casting lindy rigs with minnow as far south you can go on washington st. Bismarck. This week. Too Early But!! All I can say is "Any given Sunday" God Bless the Missouri.

no, it (codette lake) is much deeper in places than i've seen on the nipawin river where we fish which drains into the nipawin river, then to tobin... i will say i should have said the saugers were within 2 miles of the dam in the river and in faster water...

i have fished tobin lake some along the north shore and northwestern shorelines with some deeper water up to 45', but it is mostly shallower timber filled pike haven... trophy pike are a cast away in many areas in the lake...

I hope one of you guys close to the river catches a 16 lbr and keeps it. I hope you get it on a Dirty Mike lure for cripes sake and put it on the wall. Enjoy the hell out of it!
