As expected, due to it being an election year, the recent weather in the area and commodity prices in general…the bullhead harvest was below average this year…
Our hosts were excellent providing excellent habitat (food, space, and a place for our beverages). It seems often times life gets in the way and attendance dropped off sharply due to unforeseen circumstances…however those of us that braved the mid-year depression most certainly had a wonderful experience.
Friday grill your own food was a great success…
Saturday’s fowl buffet was mouth-watering delicious (see below)
…and the Sunday morning toast plate did not disappoint

while a variety of fish were caught only a few made it back to the weigh-in

largest perch went to Mrs. JUSTWINGNIT as she proved to be the fisherperson in the family, however unavailable for her photo op at the time Mr. JUSTWINGNIT ws quick to snatch up the prize:

This year a was first in event history the contestant with the most bullhead also had the smallest bullhead welding both traveling trophies…

And the award for most weight with a staggering off the charts topping 5 lbs 9oz. goes to

Good times and great hosts for sure. Finally gor the aftertaste of peppermint schnapps out of my system mid afternoon and found my can coozie back this morning. I will chalk that up as a win.

Boat ran good, no flooding this year . Had a trailer bearing go out though, so not completely unscathed. I was kinda wondering where all those people who voted for Aug 13th were.
