Sidewalk's washed, Concrete Parking's washed, deck's washed, lawn's mowed, tables/chairs are ready, Mama's starting on the brisket n' beans, still have to rake some rocks, but it's damn near beer'o'clock for this guy. Had 9 for the Friday meat burn. Grilled Chicken, Pork Chops, and Burgers to have with Mama KDM's home made Kansas Baked Beans and Cabbage Salad. Plenty of beverages were consumed and the smoker is heating up as I sit here with my cup of coffee watching the sun come up. We got a half inch of rain during the event which was VERY appreciated and marks the first time in the history of the Bullhead Tourney that we've gotten a bit of precipitation. Clear skies and sunshine for today's shenanigans should work out just fine. Got to go check to make sure the smoker is doing what it's supposed to do. IT'S ALMOST BRINDLE TIME!!!!

Beef sticks are cooking as I post. Almonds done last night. Going to dig taters and onions in about an hour when sticks are done. Shower and hit the road.

The 2017 NDA Jedimaster Bullhead Fishcatcher Event is in the books and it was a good one as far as the food and fun. The fish catching was a bit tougher. Of the 18 participants, several self proclaimed experts went bullheadless including the reigning JediMaster. The weather was perfect however, and fun was had by all. Unfortunately less than 20 lbs of bullheads were taken this year and ALL OF THEM were caught in one boat. The post event social and dinner hour were a ROUSING success and I was very lucky to have the brisket turn out well enough that most folks ate it in spite of me. The final menu consisted of Smoked Brisket, Smoked Chicken, Beer Bread, Kansas Baked Beans, Skin on Mashed Potatoes, Potato Salad, Cabbage Salad, Cole Slaw, Home Made Meat Sticks, Home Made Buns, Smoked Almonds, and Deserts of many descriptions and other accouterments. The camp fire social, as usual, saw many an ale and lager go down as well as several bottles of spirits making the rounds about the fire. Thank you so much to everyone that pitched in with food, fish cleaning, the weighin, and in so many other ways I'm unable to mention them all. It was AWESOME!!!!So hear are the results:

Largest Walleye: Colonel Angus 1.1 lbs
LARGEST BULLHEAD: Duncan .98 lbs

Duncan made it home but was sitting in front of his computer snoring just a bit ago. lol kid still has a lot to learn about partying with the veterans.

we are all looking forward to next year already, the past 2 years were a blast.
