Ok guys, I am picking up my rifle next week and would like to get out and shoot ASAP. Hornadys are out for me. What have you guys had success with?

Also since I never got into coyote hunting like I thought I would, I've been thinking about trading in the .25-06 for a Bergara B14 hunter in .300 winmag. I've done some light research on the Bergaras, and they seem to be a great rifle for the price point. Whats the word on the Bergaras?

Never sell a gun, just buy a new one and keep hold of the old one.......I've had really good luck with Federal ballistic tip in 25-06. I think they are 110 gr.

the best that i have loaded are the 117 interlock from hornady with 117 sierra game kings and for factory guys seem to like federal fusion.

if i get a 300 the 212 grain eldx will be on the top of the list. No sense in shooting light bullets when the horse power is there to fling heavies

The 25-06 is a great rifle round.

I have shot Federal PowerPoint (?), Winchester PowerPoint, Core-Lokt, Winchester Ballistic Silvertip, Noslear Accubonds, etc out of mine.

The Core-Lokt and Power Points are kind of OK, but nothing special. The Ballistic Silvertips and Accubonds were both very accurate and fast, but that came at a cost with the BSTs in that they didn't hold together very well when I'd shoot something at under 100 yds. They would fragment like a damn grenade.

I switched some 12-13 years ago to shooting Barnes TSX rounds out of handloads. They offer a good deal of accuracy and definitely hold together, so that's a positive.

I’d certainly give the Barnes Vor-Tx 100gn TTSX ammo a try. I’ve had very good lock with handloaded 100gn Barnes in the 25-06.

my dad uses an 87 gr. Nosler Ballistic tip out of his, but that gun only likes light bullets. Anything over 100gr doesn't shoot very well.

Mine likes the 117 grain Sierra Gamekings loaded by Federal. It just knocks them down for some reason.

I have been seriously thinking of switching to a 25.06 for a coyote rifle. Ive read there is a big difference in brands of rifles and performance. I don't handload so maybe this would be a bad caliber to buy. Any recommendations maybe I should get a .22-250??

22-250 would be my choice, 243 would be an option as well

Lungdeflator like you for many years I didn't like Hornady ammunition. I also cant get the SST bonded to shoot in anything. However the new Precision Hunter shoots extremely well for me and I see they make it in 110 gr for the 25/06. If the velocity is high enough it will stabilize in a less than perfect rifling twist rate.
I agree with Kurt on the 300 mag. I have a 28.25 inch barrel on my custom and I currently shoot 210 Berger VLD, but there is a box of 212 ELD-X on my loading bench. I tried a half dozen before deer season and the stayed on an eight inch steel at 1000 yards along with the VLDs. I didn't get a good velocity read on them since my Chrono said 3130 fps. I'll run them over the Chrono again this coming summer.
I think one of the perfect rifles right now is the 6.5 RSAUM. It will push a 143 ELD-X over 3100, but my son talked with a bench rest guy with many trophies that said he thought the ideal velocity for accuracy out of a 6.5 with 140 gr is 3000 fps. I would like a 6.5 RSAUM, but my 6.5 X 284 is pumping out the 140 at 2960 fps so it's hard to justify.
I have no experience with the Bagara, but they look very good to me too.
