In my 7 Rem Mag I have multiple whitetail with 140gr TSX/TTSX over the years, probably around the 10 mark and now an Aoudad with 145 LRX. 6.5-284 Norma a few with 120gr TTSX and one with 140gr Match Burner.
People that say Barnes don't kill well must be doing something different than me because I only had one buck that wasn't a 1 shot kill and that was the shooters fault not the bullet. Tracking job has never been an issue because I normally watched them drop or close to it. Still need to work up either 100gr TTSX or 101gr LRX for the .257 Wby Mag

I did and was pretty impressed. My only experience is a few whitetail bucks that I shot with one of my dad's sporterized 30-06 Springfield that he converted from military to sporting rifles, my appreciation/love for the Mauser action comes from these guns. Shot probably 3-5 bucks with the 150gr Fusion's They shot great out of that gun until I bought a new box like 5yrs later yes I made it almost 5yrs on a box of 20 with "practice" before season. My buddy loves his Fusion's in his 300 WSM but they are near impossible for him to find lately so when he found 7 boxes a year or two ago he bought all they had

Thanks. It's important to stock up on the same lot# (per another thread). If I'd miss a penny now, I'd shoot a group. I'm good for a few more years.

Fed should offer the bullets.

My only experience with the 30-30 on game would be putting down a sick and injured mule deer doe. I don't think at 30-30 velocities anything besides a cup and core bullet is needed but I do like the reliability and "cleaner" wounds of bonded or copper bullets. If I was carrying the gun in bear country I would probably opt for something like the barnes or fusion. I've switched most of my hunting rifles over to barnes and won't be going back anytime soon.

I have always been a Hornady Interlock fan. The 100 gr in a 243. The 117 gr in 257 Wby Mag. The 129 gr in a 260 and 140 gr in a 6.5 x 284. The 130 gr in 270. The 139 gr in 7MM Mag. The 150 gr 30-06 and 165 gr in 300 Win Mag.
To me they are tough bullet to beat. They always shoot great and if you do your part the animals are just as dead as any other bullet.

For factory loads, I vote for the Remington Core-Lokt. Like they say: "the deadliest mushroon in the woods!" Handloading: I've always been a big fan of Hornady Interlocks....shoot well and perform even better!

Pure lightning.
switched to the LRX last year from the TSX. devasting on my antelope at just under 500 yards. I can't seem to get great accuracy pushing them real hard in my .257 wby but still cruising along plenty well for what i need.

I haven't tried the LRX yet. My plan was to swap to the Badlands Precision 95's w/BC of .425. In fact I did and got 50 loaded ready to go. I didn't want to stock up until I shot a few critters with them and now alas, the company folded when the owner passed away about a year ago.

I've shot 2 dear w/the .277 140's but nothing w/the .257 95's or .308 175's I bought.

My plan w/the 257Wby was always to shoot mono's. There was no TTSX when my rifle was completed. The 100TSX actually has a very slightly higher BC than the 115 and so that's where I ended up. I've shot a bunch of 100gn Sierra Game Kings for practice as they'll run same/same POA/POI as the TSX out past 500yds. The SGK's are freakin' BOMBS @ 3600+. Pretty much shied away from anything cup/core in the 257Wby after shooting the SGK.
