The rules are on the WRONG side of the shirt. They should be in the front so they can be read whilst I hone the edge on a LARGE knife or clean a gun.

We band our calves when they are born. This spring when I was filling a mineral feeder I found a dried up nut sack from a Char cross calf with the two bands on it. Kinda looks like a rabbits foot. The wife thought that was what it was when she found it in my pocket when she was doing laundry asked what I had that for, I told her I was going to give it to each of our daughters dates and tell them they had to hand it back when they brought her home at nite She asked why I would give a boy something that symbolizes luck on a date with our daughter. When I told her what it was the light came on.

KDM, I know how you feel ,daughter is 21 and very responsible. Mom raised her right. you know the control we have is limited when they get to be older and if we haven't show them the rights and wrongs by this time in there life then we failed at being a parent. you see that crap all the time with other kids. What i see on this site with the things you say and do she is not going to be your problem. Now if we were talking about the boys well thats different. just kidding! My daughter is getting married this summer just the thought of my little girl getting married all i can say is WOW hope I'm up for this. Man i will feel old that day.

That isn't old. Old is when your grandkids are near that age. I don't know how much I am going to like being called great grand dad. There is one advantage to being as old as I am ----- life in prison isn't that big a deal. :)

As the father of a nine going on nineteen year old, all I can say is that it's our job as dads to teach them to not put themselves in danger via bad decisions. If we do that successfully, life is good.

Oh yeah, and as I get older it's less and less uncommon that I slip a shirt on backwards. So pick up your size of that dad rules t-shirt and wear it backwards. Yeah, it's uncomfortable, but when the boy realizes you are wearing it backwards you will know he's read it.

You have any friends that she hasn't met? That's my plan, take turns with my friends who are dads spying on each other's kids. Collect plate numbers, ID hangouts, keep profiles on every boy that talks to or looks at her, you know dad stuff.

All good ideas.

I have a first cousin whose only child - a girl - recently got married. Everything is good.

But he told me the secret. He said "during her teen years, make sure that your house is the coolest of all the friends, so they want to hang out there. Get a foosball table, ping-pong, a big tv. Never ever worry about the carpet. Give them space, and they'll hang at your house, and you'll know where they are.".

Sounds like great advice. Plus, I will always have a big cool TV.

PS, my girls are 8 and 10, and some days I feel a bit panicky when I think about what's coming.

Haha Allen, a great idea. Even better, when he realizes that it's on backwards, on purpose! Too funny!!

My daughter is only 3, but right now I have no worries. I almost look forward to the fool that dates her. I have no doubt that this little girl will wear the pants in future relationships. She is bossy and sassy and I love every bit of it.
