apples to oranges, one is a multi-state tournament series with multiple big name national sponsors and series membership dues, and the money goes to pay directors and grow a brand(and NDGF tourney fees), that will in turn hopefully go forward to growing participating anglers personal brand and giving them accessibility to pre-mentioned national sponsors. The other is ran out of a bar with volunteers and mostly local sponsors, and donates to lure em' for life the 10% that isn't paid back directly to anglers or the G&F cut.

for the record I haven't fished the big muddy so I don't know exactly what they pay out their flyer says 90% with 10% to lure'em for life in conjunction with the NDGF. I have fished AIM and wished more tournaments would go to that CRR style, it is light years beyond almost all tourneys, and is run very well and fun to fish, plus no pressure on what to box and what not toss with ND no cull rules.
