I don't think property damage is the way to get your point across. I've been on both ends and still am to this day. Sucks to have a boat zip by and you wonder how fast you can get to shallower water before your waders take a wave over the top. But I've also had shore fisherman come walking down the trail only to fish where I am. My point is, there's easier ways to make someone move if they're in the wrong. No need to start casting jigs into the side of their boat that they worked hard to get.

I agree with dirty. A little consideration goes a long way, on both ends. There are asshats, to be sure, but a lot of times videotaping with a phone is a great deterrent. If I were fishing that jetty from shore, and that guy came and parked on my line, I'd get out the phone/video camera.

On the other hand, people DO take advantage of the "watch out for shore fisherman" card. Just like a pedestrian, just because they have the right-of-way, doesn't mean that they don't occasionally get run over.

At the end of the day, nobody owns the river. Or rather, we all do. (cue the Kumbaya music)

Had it happen many times, but last weekend I had some asshat park his camper right off the hitch of mine on a wpa. Jerk could have set that camper up anywhere. i had to back my truck in at a 45 degree angle just to go home. Some people have no respect for another mans area. Heck be courteous to one another someday you may be the one in trouble and need a hand and your going to end up screwed. I'll try and post a pic of what happens when you take the kid fishing and come back

This is what I found he's about 30 off my hitch. And the front of his camper is past the far sidesign of mine. That what I get for not camping at ft. Stevenson I guess. No idea who these people are either set up between us and another group.

Ya, hate to say it but if you fish the river in town you have to expect this level of douchness. If it gets under your skin id find a new hobby because it will happen every weekend. When this happens to me i trim up the motor and head to my next spot.

With that being said i think we need some kind of white sunglass allstars thread to keep up with the awsomness this summer.

Between the pleasure boats, pontoons, jet skis and guys like that, that's exactly why I don't fish the river near Bismarck very often. Especially after the 2011 flood. Not as many places to fish anymore. But that pick of him with a snag is awesome. Too bad he didn't break his pole in half. Haha!!

Perfect fix is to keep casting into their boat until you hook their tackle box or until they get the message and leave!

This weekend pick a spot on the se side of the lake. Make sure u can see at least 4 miles of open water to the mw. I guaran tee u won't play bumper boats with others

I was stopped out in the middle of the east end one hot summer day, not a single boat in sight. I was in about a hundred feet of water, and was just there for a moment to reorganize and get a couple lines tied up....meanwhile we hear a boat in the distance, and its getting louder, next thing we know that boat shuts down 30 feet away from us...we both stare at him with our dumbfounded heads cocked to the side and politely wave n say "hi". Right before he puts a line in, i see the guy use his hand to block the sun from his graph, shake his head, (obviously noticing were in 100 FOW) and leave.

This was undeniable proof that guys get on the lake and just look for other boats to fish by.

If this would've been me MSA; I probably would have tooled around way outside your perimeter. If I were out of ideas; I'd hail you to discuss why we were both there as you shouldn't be...I'd appreciate a quick/good discussion on contours as you moved along: Not really. I'd feel like a total freakn' expert if I motored up to your hole. I'm very curious and considerate.

the river is what it is, some people never have a clue for the respect for others never will. I have to say though there is more people out there that do the right things more then the people that do the wrong things. Ive got to the point that stupid is hard to fix.

I have gotten good at sliding fish over the side without even standing up. It seems that if you use the long pole net it is like waving a bright orange flag. Then again I have played the clown at the circus act a few times and when the asshats move in just go look for where the fish are really at.:;:cheers

Buddy has a great story about fishing a point all by his lonesome, catch a few fish and the horde moves in. Bite turns off, slide out deeper, catch some fish, the horde moves back in. Slide back up shallow and he hooks into a ~8# carp, sees what it is and he and his brother go into full-on trophy walleye conniption fit. Running around the boat, drag's backed off so the fish can run, bother's running up and down the boat behind him dragging the net and they're howling like banshee's about the big walleye. Of course the horde descends upon them once again and when he's sufficiently surrounded, he allows the carp to be netted and his brother swings it up high enough so that everyone in the crowd of boats can see they'd been "had". He and his brother got a bit of a giggle out of the whole thing.

I agree. I fish the river around Bismarck all the time and rarely have problems with other people even if there is dozens of boats in an area.

You guys need a bigger body of water. Don't come to the Angle its to crowded already. Saw 2 boats yesterday one was as close as a quarter of a mile. That SOB.

Me and the wife did this last weekend. She had on what we thought was a nice walleye. As it came to the surface we saw that it was a sucker. We had 2 boats that were following us for quite awhile so I reached for the net and netted it all the while whooping and hollering how nice of a fish it was. I've never seen anybody crowd in so fast. Should've seen the look on their face when I asked them if they were fishing for suckers too!

With the guy that pulls up to fish in your 100' deep spot, you should pull out some lunkers from the live well and hoist 'em in the air, saying "Just got three big ones in the past 20 minutes".... and see if he tries the 3oz weights to get to the bottom quicker. Tell him a BLUE spinner is key! Then..... start recording

With the guy that pulls up to fish in your 100' deep spot, you should pull out some lunkers from the live well and hoist 'em in the air, saying "Just got three big ones in the past 20 minutes".... and see if he tries the 3oz weights to get to the bottom quicker. Tell him a BLUE spinner is key! Then..... start recording

Tell him fish are suspended @ 30' and show him a slip bobber with a 1/32oz split shot and a bare hook.
