Brought him up out of the folks yard and saw he was missing an eye. Not only is his eye gone but the whole eyesocket was filled in with bone. Just thought it was a bit off so figured I would post. IMG_20170723_102303.jpgIMG_20170723_101025388.jpg

Only carp I have seen that have been missing an eye are the ones I shoot in the eye with the bow.

Seems to be a mutant. Odd, to be sure. Maybe even alarming, given that the body of water you caught him in is in a residential area, in a bunch of backyards. Anybody spraying anything that they shouldn't be? Seeing a fish like that makes me think twice about swimming in said pond.

I've caught pike that were blind in both eyes. Always figured someone used them as finger holds. They tended to be pretty skinny, but the sockets weren't filled in with bone.
