Interesting but just as important, they need to cut the shit out of spending. Never ever going to happen I think.

Yet people are complaining that this tax plan hurts middle class America... I just don't see how it does. Maybe I'm just a dumb fisherman. :;:huh

Ill take any tax break I can get, but I think at 476 pages to this new tax bill, there is a lot of shit in there that we don't know about.

Unlike the permanent drop in the corporate tax rate, tax breaks for individuals would mostly expire in 2026

Everybody should be ahead with the new law. Cept to pay for it may cost some of the youngins your social security. How about cutting costs. I never here a Dem or Republican say we're cutting costs to pay for the tax cut.

Another q that exists --- it is a jobs act --- if you really read the fine print (and i have not on the final bill) but i did on the preceding ---- if you have a multinational corp --- they actually save taxes by moving jobs away from the US. Yet another babyboomer move ---- What ever happened to Tariffs Trump. Somebody sat downt he real estate profesisional and had a business as usual talk 101. I am all for low taxes -- IMO though ---- we spend a lot on defense -- all were defending is for the multinational corporations to hire foreign labor in foreign countries.

Voting starts tomorrow. Looks like it will probably pass. More jingle in the jeans for 2018.

I think they best learn to cut spending. Or it's all for not. Cutting taxes is the easy part. Anyone can do that. The hard part is yet to come and I don't think any of them have the stones for it.

This seems to be another case of "pass the bill to find out what's in it". It was wrong then and it's wrong now.

We won't know how this will affect state revenues till after it is signed. We don't know how it will affect our personal situations. How many special deals are tucked away in it? A bill of this type should be done properly, not jammed through before a holiday weekend.

They claim a family of four making $75,000 gets a tax cut of $2059. 2000 of that comes from the child tax credit. That tells me if a couple without kids wouldn't even notice their tax cut.

If we could somehow get term limits made into law that would at least make some of these idiots vote for cutting spending as they wouldn't have to worry about offending someone and losing their votes. Otherwise the way it is now they don't want to offend them as they are always looking ahead at getting reelected!
I won't live long enough to see it happen i am afraid.
Anyone concur?

It will be interesting to see if ANY DEM's vote for this, now that they are kinda convinced the GOP have the votes to pass. If DEM's didn't think it would pass the GOP then I am sure they would all line up against it. If they think it will now pass, I think some DEM's may vote for it...are you listening Heidi???
Then again, most are probably posturing for 2018.
With ENTITLEMENT SPENDING at about 2/3 of the Federal Budget spending, and only about 1/3 on discretionary spending, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to concur that eventually entitlement spending will have to be altered. Yet, no one in Washington dare bring this up as they would never get elected..or re- elected. My. 02

Did you check out the calculator in the original post? Not sure of its accuracy but it shows

family of 4 in ND making $ 75,000 saves $ 2,118
Married couple in ND making $ 75,000 saves $ 1,364

I had a friend and former representative (not one that wanted re-election) tell me that the problem with term limiits is the beaucrats stay with the changing elected officials and you end up with more power in the hands of beauracrats. No sure I agree with his statement. Personally I think they should have had to have had residence in the district they represent for minimum of 10 years, had an ongoing business in said district, and be required to return to said district for minimum of 10 years after serving.. the downside is only dummies would run.. FML eh
