Out with the old in with the new. Might as well have some playing time. Probably hurts his draft status. It is what it is. We don't get #5 if the defense doesn't improve.

It will hurt has draft status a lot. The way the defence has played 5 wasn't going to happen anyway. The backup is a red shirt. So it will be a good year for him to get some snaps.

Don't rule them out, Easton Stick had a lot of schools trying to recruit him. Brock Jensen was a back up QB at one point, and so was Carson Wentz. As long as our defense gets its act together we should be fine. Here's a highlight reel of Easton Stick in High School, he looked pretty good! https://youtu.be/XdeatBomDMQ

Easton will be a solid replacement and should affect the offensive too much provided he can preform as expected on gamedays….the Bison’s bigger problem is there defense and stopping mobile QB’s … unless they figure it out they will be a one and done playoff team

Doubt it, unless it doesn't heal properly. He'll be 100% by the time they do pre-draft workouts and he'll be able to do the combines and stuff. They've seen enough game film to know he can play, another 4 or 5 games wouldn't have changed that much.

Are you guys really of the opinion Wentz is a future NFL quarterback?

hes big enough, good arm, fairly accurate. if he's got what it takes between the ears, then there is no reason he wouldn't be a serviceable backup somewhere

Everyone is throwing the word serviceable out like nuts today. Is serviceable the word of the day?

I'm not even a Bison fan but a 6'5 guy who's mobile and can make the throws will get drafted. Probably not real high but he'll get a shot. No way would I put money on him being a starter but it certainly wouldn't surprise me. Some of the QBs in the NFL are nothing special...

Mel Kiper is.

I'll reserve my opinion of Mel Kiper for you.

I guess if you guys are talking career NFL backup quarterback, sure. I don't dislike the kid at all, I just don't feel like he's the next Steve Young like it seems a few of you guys think he is. Hopefully he'll surprise me.

I'm just saying he spends way, way, WAY more time evaluating college players than any of us do.

The way the SU defense has played lately, he'll need to protect the ball a little better. Sucks to hear about Carson, but hopefully we'll see some good things out of Stick.

Packers will draft him. They do great drafting guys that don't appear to be that great and the past two have seemed to be fairly decent. And their current backup doesn't appear to be a slouch. And to top it off he's used to wearing green and gold lol

Well considering there have been NFL scouts at just about every NDSU home game I'm guessing they know more then you or I. He has great size and athletism and has shown ability to make NFL throws. Hope he heals fully and quickly and is able to compete in the Senior Bowl and combine.
