In the past ten years the river has became a zoo. The one thing that scary for me is a boat going past 50 mph or more and coming to close to another boat. It only takes a small move by the boat thats not moving to make a small problem BIG. Every year i wonder when someone is going to get killed.

So today I'm trolling down the shoreline in my sparkly boat and I see one of those annoying shore fishermen. So I sez "Hey asshole, reel in your damn lines. Can't you see I'm trolling this shoreline." And this yahoo flips me the bird. The friggen nerve of some people...

There is no reason why people should drive a boat over 30 mph on the river from Misty Waters to Huff. There are too many boats and underwater hazards. I have a sparkly boat but I darn sure don't rip around on the river. People need to be courteous to other fisherman. It is disheartening to see what a circus it has become south of Bismarck. It is all about bragging how big of fish they can catch, getting a limit, and how they are in every tourney. The tourneys need to be spread out throughout the year. I quit fishing tourneys because of the cheating that happens. It is sad that people get crazed about catching a walleye that will risk their life or someone else's.

Sorry for the bitch i do realize when you go wide open the wake is smaller. Been fishing the Missouri river for well over 30 yrs and know the river quite well. When we were buzzed it was within 30ft of our boat in the wider part of the river channel and made one hell of a wake. As for the leadcore i would not intentionally try to cast or cause my line to get in someones prop. Was just pissed off when i posted this thread. It seems odd this is the going trend to buzz boats, until someone gets hurt.

C'mon you make fishing seem like Hillary won the election!

I don't think anyone is purposely buzzing people. I'm thinking it has a lot to do with staying on a trail the best they can. I know last year I went through an area at least nine times, tenth time, got a little off trail and "boom" nailed a stump.

Realize staying on your trails is important but this area was 200ft wide while we were pulling 15' from shore and average depth is 16 ' pretty much the whole width of that portion of the river. Could of been one of the rookie aim anglers that did not know the river channel and set there trail when no one was in that area fishing. Here is one of the all time boating etiquette f-up we were jigging across from sugarloaf small 16' with a 50hp no electric pulling a anchor to slow the boat, nope did not say one word to him as he was plowing the bottom. Goes to show you that there is a lack of common sense no matter what size boat is out on the Missouri.

Had some douche bag stroll his boat up coalharbor creek while we were shorefishing for pike. Myself, my brother and our kids on one side, and a couple other guys across from us in a 60-80ft wide creek inlet. How the toolbag didnt get a prop full of line is beyond me. He did drag 2 of my lines a few yards, but they must not have caught a prop. He tried to fish until my war veteran brother with anger management issues and PTSD decided to start bangin lures off his boat. He ran his mouth a bit, threatened to call game n fish, then motored out tough n angry. I got him on video crossing at least 6 lines, but something tells me even if i turned him in, hed still think he was right, and there'll be another tool next week.

I have to got to Jamestown this weekend and was thinking about taking the boat. Is anything biting over there?
Sorry to say you can't do it as water isn't high enough. You will have to pull the boat to Jamestown and put it in the water there. Sorry had to do it! ;:;rofl

I got cussed out by a shorefisherman by the state line on oahe for fishing to close to shore, I told the old thundercat that he couldn't even cast this far. He was going to show me I guess as he put his waders on walked out to his chest and launched a 1oz sinker at me almost made it to my boat on his first try, probably would have got me the second try, if he wouldn't have stepped off the drop off that went from 4 to 6feet on his cast and fill his waders with 45 degree water. I made sure he got his footing back and didn't drown before I yelled over to him that there is a drop off there, he told me I was number 1 with his fingers packed up his shit and left. Ended up talking to the guy the next day out fishing again, he said he had been snagged three times earlier in the day by boaters and had just had enough when I came along. I told him most people probably didn't know he was putting waders on and walking out into the water 40 feet and casting he said yea probably I told him 80 yards down the shore at the point he wouldn't have to put his waders on to get where the fish are, that must have pissed him off because he told me I was number two with his fingers this time instead of number 1. Shorefisherman are hard cats to understand.

What's hard for the shorefisherman to understand is 300,000 acres of water and the guy in the boat has to come by and snag your line.
You have a boat and the fish are everywhere.

to that they could say there are hundreds of miles of shoreline too. Either way fishing is supposed to be relaxing and stress free whether it is from shore, off a dock, or in a boat(as long as it sparkles) biggest thing is to not let something piss you off for to long that isn't that big of a deal in the grand scheme.

Some people like to be offended or pissed off no matter what and that won't change.

And the shorefisherman would say I was here for hours before you showed up with your boat.

I don't get pissed, just can't believe the lack of common sense/courtesy of some people.

And in reality it's only a very small percentage that are like this. Most people I see fishing do things the right way, it's
just human nature to remember the bad ones.
