I saw a video of some guy pricing out a 2 day 3 night trip it honestly didn’t sound that bad. I think it was around 2,000 per person which is still a lot but not as bad as I though
Go to Navarre beach Florida, airfare into Destin or pensacola is around 450 (from Minot), car rental 300, airbnb on the gulf 1700, ocean kayak rental 450 per week. put in at sunrise every morning, sabiki up some live baits, then troll just past the color change, where the teal green water meets the black, using a circle hook and live baits and you'll get one.

Im thinking fort peck for lake trout is 1st on the list. Followed by a fly in Canadian trip some day. Let's hope they become the 51st state to make travel easier!
Ft peck is very doable...depending on your drive. Feel free to pm me if you decide to pull the pin on a trip. Can pass on some info that have picked up making trips for the last 5 or 6yrs.

I don't understand the comments about going to Canada. Know several people who go to Canada with no problem. Show identification, answer a question or two about reason for going and "Are you bringing any alcohol?" Others go fishing with no problems. May look in your trunk or ask about live bait and then "Have a nice day."Even when I go hunting with guns it's simple to fill out the form, match the firearm, give them the fee and on your way."

Sometimes it's a bigger hassle getting back in the US then it is going north. They are getting diligent about ANS potential problems. Have a clean boat.

My issue with fishing trips to Canada is for the same price, I can fish the gullf coast, The atlantic, Pacific, or even Mexico...and I can catch completely different species, not perch, pike, & walleye

I would however go to canada for giant Inconnu or colored up char

I’m actually heading down to Florida in February for a work thing, not sure what part of Florida but I believe I’m around that area, I might give it a shot

In February blackfin tuna and false albacore will be about the only thing around to target, unless you wanna try landbased for great whites and makos. Best months for sailfish is july-september

I’ve seen people fishing for blackfin off kayaks over there and it looks just as fun, any fish I could catch over there would be cool

Lake Cascade in Idaho for winter perch. Came really close once, but it didn't work out.
My brother goes there all the time and some times they have to wear waders the slush is so bad under the snow. Last year a guy got a tracked four wheeler stuck and it spent the winter there. Usually have to walk every thing out. Him and a buddy drove out here last winter to fish and it wasnt even good and his buddy wants to come again he thought it was the best fishing ever.

He has caught a couple big perch though i will try and find a picture

found one

If I can stay away from Africa for a year or two I'll finally get around to going on the other 2 trips I've been planning.

The Ebro River in Spain for giant Wels Catfish

And the Esuquibo River in Guyana for all the South American stuff, Arapaima, Payara, Peacock Bass, Jau, Piranha, Redtail cat, Piraiba, Lau Lau, etc..

Through the kindness of a good job, a great boss and an awesome wife I enjoyed 22 years of the fishing at the NW Angle. Bought a used FEMA Camper in 1998 then a small log cabin in 2003.
God has truly being GOOD.
Living on the big lake would be awesome, sounds like you had a fun 22 years up there

Just checked off my list a Canadian fishing trip with my son (now a daddy of four). Couldn’t get it done when he was a kid, but no time like the present, eh? Little Bear Island in Ontario was awesome.
Been lucky enuf to have a blue marlin on the wall from Cabo, and pulled red snapper and barracuda off the coast of Miami and salmon out of the Flathead River.
I’m not that good, just that old.
