Call the dow (5/1)!

The stock market is an International market so in order for it to go up it also has to go up sll over the world, so it is kinda wierd that the recent bounce up seems irrational. Reaction to virus was a overreaction so maybe people are returning to an optimistic view.

Part of the reason the market went up this week was Bernie dropping out of the race, making Biden the nominee. Biden doesn't really scare me as far as the market goes, the market did just fine under Obama.

The S&P 500 was about 675 when Obama was inaugurated and about 2150 after his 2 terms, roughly a 220% gain in 8 years. Also that time period was the best prices farmers received since the Russian wheat deal. If some of these new meds pan out for the virus by fall markets ought to stabilize. Markets react to the future, not the present.

My guess of 24442 with the market this morning may, i hope, be to low and will concede a failure to predict the right number.
About 70% of the wife and my savings are in CD with 30% in some kind of stock being handled by someone else.
From Janurary to the end of March those funds in stock had drop about $19,000. So hopefully, April there was some recovery and it continues on and i become a winner in that regards. db

Imagine that, it is stuck in the 24250 range, maybe be stuck there or slightly higher at close on friday.
Imagine that.
Got letter from Jackson who handles one of the stocks (who knows where) we have.
Loss $8,176 from first of year to end of March and now by 4/23 i got $1,900 of that back. Not sure what the dow was on 4/23 but will sleep good tonight.

bah. If we don't bring it up, how will people know/remember how good we are? I can't necessarily speak for Kurt (although sometimes, kinda..) but I sure can't rest on my actual accomplishments. Without bringing them up, they're lost in the clutter of history.
