My guess made on April 31 of 21,917 was the close on that day. My logic was that it would remain pretty flat. Glad to be wrong and see it recover a little bit.

PS - I think the negative Nellys at the bottom should get a booby prize.

Just got back with the wife after having two Old Mills at the local pup. Wife won 65 dollars at pull tabs but for some reason the machine got all but $10 back. One day off for me and do not understand how it can drop 600 and some points. Would of been happeir to see it go up 600 points.
But son and wife are coming over along with one other daughter to eat supper, a few more cold ones on the deck and maybe a smore over the fire place if the wind goes down.
There were eight at the bar and has a sign once it hits 50 will lock the door. May need to go down later to see how it goes.
Not sure if this is the right thing to do, restraunts will open on Monday in this town.

Time will tell and tomorrow is another day and I am one day closer to my time to go at 102. db-2

Nj, thanks for putting this on. It was a fun game to play in this crazy time. Congrats to brown eye, well done. I also think GUYWHO and GRIZZY should each get one jig so they can fish to survive instead of play the market :)

For those who pulled out, Any opinions of when is a good time to roll back in ? I've been pondering on this for a while and dragging my feet waiting for a good time but the turmoil looks to be with us for a while and the upcoming election scares me. Part of my brain keeps telling me a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush but I am a gardener and I realize how much produce you can get off a well placed seed.

My way of thinking is roll back in with baby steps , Can do it for free 3 times a month if I remember right. Right or wrong/smart or dumb ?

What ever you guys say, I'll do the opposite. Haha just funnin with ya and in a good way. ;:;popcorn

When things were going south we rolled out early and thought a lake cabin was in our future due to people having to make tough decisions and creating a buyers market. Turned out they are holding their value. From what I gather is working at home is the new normal for quite a few people that are thinking if I am going to work from home we might as well make this fun.

I never pull out... just ask my wife.... all jokes aside, I stayed in and even put more in my brokerage link account to to buy individual stocks throughout this whole thing. My personal rate of return for my 401k accounts is around 48% for the year.... ifni would have sold all the new stocks I bought when they spiked way up, my PRR would be around the 80% mark. Its ok though as they are still way down from their normal prices and I know they will eventually go way back up. I'm young, I can wait.

when I participate in games like this I like to get away from the pack where there’s lots of competition - that’s why I lowballed hard

I moved my 401k into a Vanguard $1/$1 in January, realizing if this was deadly we were in for chaos

I rolled half back into stock-based funds six days before it bottomed. I rolled the rest back in a month later.

I got very lucky and figured I should get defensive for a while - about a week ago I took a more conservative position (medium risk)

I took a 30% profit on a stock I’ve held for quite some time. Reinvested it in some others

what mutual funds are your 401k accounts in? 48% has me very interested.

My retirement plan is through Fidelity. The funds that I'm in are
Fidelity Growth Fund (47% up YTD)
Fidelity Diversified INTL (this ones not done real great at only about 7%ytd)
Fidelity OTC Portfolio (28% up YTD)
Fidelity Total Market Indes (only 7% YTD)
Fidelity International Index (actually down 5% YTD)
Fidelity Puritan (11% ytd)

Those are the funds I'm in, and the growth fund and the OTC portfolio hold a majority of my fund investments. Where I've made a lot of my gains is my brokeragelink accounts which are tied to my 401k. I invested a fair amount of money in some oil stocks like EOG, Targa, and Oasis (at the right time). These stocks have made me roughly 63% so far and are actually way down from their highs for the year.... at one point I was up about 360% in those brokeragelink accounts, but my dumb ass didn't sell one of my stocks when it spiked waaaaay up... then it dropped.... and now oasis has filed for bankruptcy.... needless to say, I've sold all my oasis stock now...
