we have been using a keurig for a few years, and have some blends we really like... just got a french press and are going to start experimenting with it...

our favorite k coffee is the mccafe right now, and looking for a blend for the press that is close to that, if anyone out there has been down this road...

any tips, tricks, or recipes for the french press???

35 years of slurping Folgers, I'm that sophisticated.
Sounds pretty good, I had a Boston coffee on a cruise ship once, was a party in my mouth. Wish I knew what all it was, I would drink that again forever.

I drank my share of Folgers. But now we drink strictly whole bean coffee. There are lots of brands and variety's. Most of the time it's Caribou Blend from Sam's. Doesn't taste bitter but has a great flavor. Black.

I used to use a French press but after breaking two of them, I gave up on that. It is a really good way to brew coffee.

They make stainless steel ones that are a lot more durable than the glass ones if you are interested just search amazon or target might even sell them. I'm a Keurig user myself, the last thing I want to do at 6 in the morning is wait around for water to boil and than another few minutes for it to steep. I do admit though a french press makes a tasty cup of joe. I use one of those adapters that you can put your own coffee in works good enough for me with some Yuban or if I have some money to spend I like the Dunkin Donut og flavor.

Yah I know about the stainless ones. But I too can hardly wait for the coffee. The old pot makes more coffee also. No coffee, no good!

If using a French press, do urself a favor and go whole bean and grind it. Try caribou medium blend or Starbucks house blend. Heat water to boiling, pour ~ 4-6oz into French press. Let steep for 4 min, heat water to boiling and fill French press to fill line, let steep for 4min. Plunge, enjoy! This is how I used to role. Now I have an Americano that does everything with a push of a button. I'm not a pro, but anyone who claims folgers is great, doesn't know coffee.
