A little help:
I am under the impression that I can carry a rifle/pistol on me loaded, not in open view and do not need a permit.
I can carry in the vehicle with bullets only not in the chamber and not in open view.
I do not have to tell the law office I have a loaded weapon on me when he comes up to me.
Just what are the rules today?
for instant I go out to the local fire range with a pistol and bullets only not in the chamber in my vehicle with pistol in a case or not, in view or not. Can I do that legally? db

I think it would be best to ask your questions here.

Why not get a Conceal carry, and there is no confusion on what the law is.

Yes wby it would be best just to get one but at age 72 that has not happen and probably will never happen. Old and set in ones way even if it does benefit me.
Skol: I go there and go to section 62 and all I get is a blank page.
There was a time when in this county, if I went and seen the sheriff, I would walk out in a few minutes with the proper paper. Should of done it then. db

well I got off the high horse and did dig deeper and ended up finding and did print out the rules.
And it said in simple language that ( 62.01-04-02) I may not carry a firearm or dangerous weapon concealed unless I have a license. And it told me what conceal meant. Funny how that works.

What ever happen to what I thought was passed two years ago about no license?
But then as I read more it states if I have a valid id from the transportation dept. I do not need a license.
Someone on here knows the rules and instead of me trying to read the rules as to what I think they say should be able to tell me what they real say are so I can drink my beer in peace.

Guess if I can read the rules and understand clearly I should be able to get the licenses, pass the fricking test and yes that would solve a lot of my issues.
And I thought by now I was done learning and it was a free ride going forward. db

Thanks for the info. I let my class 1 lapse as there wasn't time to renew it. It would be great if the CWP in ND could just be renewed like your drivers license.

I just visited with one in the know????????????
He said as long as the weapon is not conceal I do not need a license. Section 62.1 tells what conceal means.
So if I am wearing my model P Cimarron 44-40 with bullets in the chamber on my hip like Matt Dillion, not cover, I do not need the license.
If I carry it in a shoulder holster under my coat I need the license.

Yes just get the fricking license. Wii work on that sometime in the future. yabetchyou. db
