Tell you one thing im noticing is that the extended ice time has definitely kicked up the amount of dead fish im seeing in the folks yard. Best guess is that the overly abundant small bluegill are running out of calories to burn and with the ice staying on an extra 5 weeks this year they are coming up a little short. Seen one a couple days ago doing his last few kicks even though he was in open water so know it wasn't due to lack of oxygen.

Thoughts on the larger lakes...Sak/Audubon/Devils? Are we thinking 2 more weeks before boat time on those lakes?

That would be great...even to be able to put in at Sanish...work west a little. I've never fished Sak west of Van Hook/Parshall...so looking forward to trying that area a little this spring.

Where did you see that? Weather service has a small area out along the red in normal and the rest above normal with below normal precipitacion on their 14 day graphic. Also need to keep in mind normal at this point is mid 60's so normal will still rip the ice a new asshole.

Open line on Sak had pushed to Tobacco Garden yesterday evening, would think today's temps and wind pushed it nicely east some. Bay is still mostly ice covered but fading fast.

when i was out for my hike last night the north side of the lake was wide open now with the south wind the ice will be gone by saturday at the latest. I would have lost lots of money this year betting how fast the ice was going off. It was amazing to watch how it just disappeared after being damn near 3 feet

I'm betting DN can either find a model or draw his own showing 42 inches of snow in the next weather maker again

I wouldn't waste my time, highly overrated! Nothing but white bass and mooneyes out this way. Walleye and pheasant are always over-hyped out this way.

North shore open well past Lund's, not sure if their ramp is open but the bay sure looks like it should be, Tobacco Garden's ramp is a few day's away but really close
