The reason they are increasing numbers is to increase revenue as they are self supported. Raise tag fees to compensate and keep the budget going so fisheries or other depts. Don't decline

You guys did notice that they did not say they were raising the number of tags right! They are simply setting the bench mark to judge year to year numbers against for the next five years.

Best bounty for coyotes would be for each 20 you kill you get an extra lottery point. It'd probably almost guarantee some of you would get a license so some would bitch, but if you're killing that many yotes, rock on!

I agree with DI's concept and understand the frustration but believe $300 to be excessive. Perhaps game check stations with a trophy fee for eastern style tine count. Not saying this is the solution, just tossing off. This would not apply to youth.

The govt got involved with the cheese and now the holes are too small or non-existent. It's difficult to maintain status as a cheese dick.

if they want more revenue how about increasing the cost of a NR waterfowl license? hell if we don't cap it mite as well take them for all there worth and give them a shitty hunt on top of it when they come in Oct.

oh did I just turn this into a NR bashing thread:;:sorry

in all seriousness id rather see the mule deer herd managed for quality. im fine with drawing 5-6 years. that's why I apply in multiple western states for deer, goats etc

and for the "wish I had that money to do that" crew you can plan a hunt and just buy points in Wyoming (40$ deer, 30$ goat)until your ready, every state has online apps put it on a Credit card one month later when most states have the draws done you get refunded not like a guy actually spends money on for 5 different states every year. its a plan for those of us that want to hunt big game muleys, goats etc every year you have to have one.

i know this will surely strike a nerve on a few folks and im not saying this is actually a good idea but it got me thinking anyway, #coveredmyasssoidontoffend
but in Idaho i now in a lot of units it is much easier for a non-resident to get a bull tag than it is for a resident a) because obviously more residents are applying than NR but
b) NR pay almost $500 for that tag that if it went to a R it would be something like $20 or $30 or something around there.

its probably too late for this as the herd is starting to grow anyway, but the year where not a damn one of us was getting any tags anyway why wouldnt they put most of these tags available for NR if they are so worried about making more money, at least until the herd is where they want and they can increase amount of tag given out,
plus if we give the tag to NR there is a better chance less deer would die A) because they arent gonna be out hunting as much as residents would be and B) Sconi's cant shoot straight, its in the bible.

Non residents can still buy archery tags over the counter and residents have to buy them online.

There are retailers where you can walk in and purchase them. They are still done electronically and can give you the bow tag right there if they have them available.

Even if they get the licenses up to the 75,000 mark, if the number of people applying keep increasing like it has, then we're still at the 40% to 50% of applicants getting a tag.

Basically, if you go to these retailers, they are done the same way as if you were doing it yourself at home on your computer. The exception being, is that if they have the tags available, you get to walk out with the tag.

With the G&F saying online - it does imply that you must do them yourself at home.

if they haven't ran out - which of course they did when I visited last week ;:;banghead

I'm curious if they still let you purchase the tag but had to wait for it to show up in the mail or if they didn't allow you to buy it there.
