Maybe you can move the make believe football threads and golf threads and threads about how bad the Vikings suck into the sports forum and get them off the side bar too.

Load em up. Page views are good. The users need to understand a successful site revolves around page views. By letting them show, it's good for the site, good for the few with a controllable intellect, and great for discussion. I'd fire every bullet possible as turning this site into a powerhouse authority outdoor site. The users have to use self control in whether they wish to view a topic. If you support big V in turning this site into the dominant site, let it happen. Political discussions are a good thing as they can relate to many outdoor topics. The others are for purely entertainment reasons, which we all need from time to time. Support the growth, let er buck guys. Your choice to click or not.

Edit: By adding this option, you're basically saying thank you to V for putting this site together. This will help his site. It will help him make working on this thing long term. As a way of saying ty, this is a great way of giving back to him. Time is money. Help him make this worth his time. Nobody's going to turn this into the next FBO, it ain't happening. Let's grow this puppy as big as we can. The more you help him, the more he helps us. At the very least, we owe him the ability to create more page views for this site. If you can't agree, I challenge you to make a better community. It ain't gunna happen. This is and will be the dominant site for years to come, with the help and a little self control from everybody. Do the right thing and allow it.

Edit again: FBO is old news, and so are the ways that brought that place to it's knees. There's nothing but a great group of guys here. Winters a coming, we need all the jargin we can to talk about. History is in the making guys, let's make sure this site is a force to be reckoned with for decades.

I say no for the simple fact that there are several threads that aren't outdoors related but the problem I see with putting politics on the sidebar is it will eventually turn into a heated debate. Politics is polarizing and just ends in a pissing match. I'm not a Vikings fan or a Chevy fan but I'd rather see 50 posts about them than I would one political. IMHO, all politicians are a waste of oxygen and could F up a wet dream. Talking about them and their sh!t show is just a waste of time.

No, just one post says politics, then a sub category for everything inside that folder. Kind of like what svnmag was trying to do " one post, click on, to go to politics" that way it still doesn't over take all the other topics.

Still doesn't clarify it to me because some could say that only governmental topics are political, to vague for me needs to be broken down for dumb people like me. Politics can be categorized as a debate over anything where someone thinks their team is better or that ndgf should keep lake Alice closed, farmers, slot limits, GMO, und vs ndsu, muslims vs christianity the list could go on. Vollmer what if the topic is categorized in the wrong forum and should of been post as political. Just a few questions

silly question... Any way to make it optional? I noticed you can expand and contract the current sidebar at right - just the other day for the first time (the double arrow thingy). Maybe make a politics sidebar that user can choose to expand or not?
