Pheasant? deer bow? Ice fishing? All three? Calling for mild temps this weekend, I'm guessing alot of people will be out on the ice.

Hoping to get on the ice a couple of times this weekend. I should go try to fill my bow tag, but I'm having too much fun fishing with my little fishing buddy.

I think yesterday was my last pheasant hunt. They can't run so well in the new snow but I don't handle it well either. One in the bag and another coon too. Never encountered so many coons in the cattails as this year. Probably the coons had bigger litters from all the corn left standing a year ago. Seems like at least half the roosters are still out there, the ^#*!#@.

Have enough pictures of Coons this year to last a lifetime, thought I'd seen a lot at a young age until I witnessed 3 grown men take on a 5 pack of Coons with grain shovels out of a bin. Those things are evil.

Today the winds were very light and the birds held in front of Sport as if it was opening day. Beautiful weather. I believe Sport is six now. My third English Setter. He is awesome. My brother and I hunted the edges of cattails etc. Next to corn stubble were the best producers. Five roosters three partridge.

Rang in the new year by chasing birds Jan 1 and 2.
2 of us shot a limit of roosters and a couple bonus grouse on Friday.
3 of us shot a limit of roosters Saturday. Both days were almost sunrise to sunset hunts.
Dog is pretty shot after today so calling it a season...a damn good one too.
I shot somewhere around 85 pheasants/grouse/partridge.
Filled whitetail and pronghorn archery tags and filled my rifle tag with my biggest mule deer to date.
I squeezed in a great dove hunt and a fantastic duck hunt as well.
Between spring and fall seasons I shot or called in for someone else to shoot 17 turkeys including my daughters first.
Also, my first season I can remember without my dog needing stitches from a fence.
Also, my first season in a long time with no skunk or porcupine incidents for any dog I hunted over.
I had one, two, or all three of my daughters with me on at least a dozen hunts this year. Seeing them have so much fun was the icing on the cake. We sprinkled in some pretty good fishing along the way too.

Went ice fishing this morning and had the last rooster hunt of the season this afternoon. Perfect day in ND, 35 degrees and no wind.
