Best tasting after the deep-fry: Peanut oil

Healthiest options: Coconut oil

Unhealthiest options: Soy, Canola, Vegetable, etc. (label says 'hydrogenated' = the death skull process placed in a bottle for your home use & increased medical expenses)

I would argue the best tasting is lard. Just like the old ladies that make doughnuts say.

shortening and processed foods use hydrogenated oils - most liquid oils in jugs/bottles are not hydrogenated
