As far as i understand each harness must have a tag description for information about weight and height of fall. That way if you do fall out of the tree stand you purchased with the Said harness you could sue for liable damages.

Or let quincy test it ;:;banghead

the bad part about harnesses is getting into them. the ones you get with a tree stand all straps. I threw all that Sh*t out and got a vest type easy to put on can even do it in the dark.

Won't use the cheap ones included though I am sure they are safe or they wouldn't include them. I have one of the Gorilla brand harnesses that I like.

If I was ever to sit in a stand (not currently in my plans) I would do it sans harness because I'm old school.

Just kidding - I'd probably wear two.

If'n I could climb a tree, I would just run the f'n deer down and wring it's neck. There is a reason the mirror is right outside the winder

an AR for $430, makes me wonder what the catch is?

maybe its a clearance I picked a dpms for $ 250 and a sig for $ 500 when Wal-Mart was clearing their guns out.

I see they have a ruger SR556vt that I have been looking at and it is about $ 600 less than I can find it anywhere else.

I haven't been in a tree since leaving the Fagro area 14 years ago, I haven't bow hunted in about 7 years now either. But seems time to start again.
I have a harness, but since last climbing a tree I am 80-100 lbs heavier, might need to reinforce it with some tarp straps.

What are you guys's opinions on the cheap harnasses that come with treestands? I think they look about as dangerous as the fall would be.

I throw them in the garbage as soon as they come out of the box. I have a hunter safety system and really like it.

Most of mine end up in the same place. I use one for pulling my ice house around though. works well when you're foot powered.

I never thought about using them for an ice house drag. Mine has a clip on the back for dragging deer and that works good.

Yep. I just snaked that lead rope through the back. Works pretty dang well. Sometimes it's tough to actually put on when you're bundled up.

my favorite cold weather boot when moving snow off the driveway, ice fishing, or at work driving around in the cold truck.

They run a 1/2 size to a whole size big but if you order your normal size, you can blow air into the valve on the side of the boot. It will put air in between the layers of insulation in the boot to make a better fit. Pull 'em on and if they are too tight, crack the valve a bit and let some air out.

Camofire has 10x50 vortex diamondback's for $150 right now. Good binos in my opinion. They are what I've used for the last year and a half and right now are $100 cheaper than anywhere I've ever seen them
