and in the Hills...

The BFR post is cool but slightly inaccurate according to Federal. A shot charge achieves full velocity at 16in via my correspondence which I wish I had saved for this post. This came from the early days up here and shooting total hellfire for late season pheasant. A box of these shells may/should become a curiosity. 1 3/8 oz at 1500fps (2 3/4): Unnecessary and holy shi'ite.

A perfect sphere launched at 1200 vs 1500 has no practical difference in energy at 40yds. It took me a while to swallow this.

It's not the extra energy that's needed, it's the extra speed that makes up for slowing/stopping swings. I noticed it shooting skeet all summer w/1300fps AA's and then switching to mid-1100's el-cheapo promo loads for sharptails, too many birds hit a bit far back.

Yes, I believe I mentioned something similar to PG.

Also, I'm not advocating shooting CHEAP shot at game just less punishing. I find your preferred skeet load excellent all around hunting fodder in 7 1/2.

FUN FACT: I prefer 6s and 4s for late season birds and all the time for squirrel. There's been a few times I wished I had a few 2s on me.

I'm mostly a full choke slob.

I/C choke, it's a RARE day indeed that I'm choked tighter. 1oz 20ga #5's for pheasants. No preference @ opener, Fiocchi Nickel plated after Turkey day.
