Whoa...I have no info on the story but I know the name well.

I probably don’t even want to know the details but this is a sad, sad, sad deal.
RIP Dale, a guy who seemed to live life, a very full life, on his own terms.
Condolences and prayers to everyone involved no matter how this played out.

Please, everyone, keep your wits about you and choose your words wisely as details emerge no matter what they are. These are the types of incidents that hinge on one moment gone wrong and lives are ruined in the aftermath. If whatever you say can in any way possible make things worse for someone involved it’s probably best to just keep it to yourself. I’m sure many who regularly check out Nodak have met Dale and I would guess some were very close to him.

Sad. Very sad.

Lincoln, kinda...
Shit.

He was the first I thought of when McHenry county was mentioned.

I never personally met the guy but we chatted numerous times through the old Fishing Buddy site.

My sincerest condolences to all who knew him.

Fished w/him a couple of times whilst staying @ the Old Mil Lodge and I thoroughly enjoyed his company. He'll be missed.

Murdoch in his younger days. Standing next to my wife's uncle. With the white baseball cap. Fishing in Canada.

Good Lord! Did that lake ever recover?!?!

More importantly, we’re they even able to drink beer? Must have been reeling fish in two at a time all day long.

Not to take anything away from this tragedy, but I hope someday pictures like this circulate about me when I’m gone.
Proof of a lifetime of good memories.
