I haven't read all pages so If I missed this answer I apologize. What thermals are you all using? I was told should always have one with a range finder? Is there a good entry level one? Not sure I want to afford one.

I run a Bering Optics Super Yoter 640. It does not have a range finder, which is something I'll have on the next one. Thermals are getting better and cheaper all the time. There are a lot of cheaper 384 core units out there, but once you see a 640, you'll want that. 1024 / 1280 cores are still pretty rare and expensive, but soon enough those will be the standard.

I run a 4 year old Bering Optics Super Hogster 384. Works fine but next one will have a range finder. Thermal scopes have come a long way in 5 years.

A couple buddies and I went out today with hounds. They did real well early with the fresh snow and light winds.
Got a bit tougher bout noon when the wind picked up.
Fun day overall.

How's that work with hounds? They flush them out of sloughs etc and you wack 'em as they come out? or do the dogs catch them? Just curious. Cool pic.

I know a guy in Glenham SD runs Greyhounds and has a kennel built on the back of his truck where he can release the hounds with a rope. I've never checked it out up close, but he just drives around until they flush one with the truck. Hounds do all the work.

ND electronic posting (and the over abundance of posted sign before that) has pretty much wiped out hunting yotes (chasing them) with dogs in my area for sure. It was getting tough before, but now just about everyone that used to do it has stopped.

You just never know where or who’s land they’re running too.

YES!! There are plentiful douche canoes around that will run you down for chasing yotes on “their” land.

It’s a fucken shame. Such is life.

Come down south no one here will mess with you especially if you act a little off. Think Deliverance off.

With the overabundance of yotes, I think they should put a bounty back on them like they did years ago. Not good for your entertainment @SupressYourself if they were to do that I know.

The general consensus on bounties seems to be that it produces more educated coyotes when every slack-jawed yokel is out there dicking it up. Those that trap / snare would do well though.
