Drunks in a camper in the backyard.....................what could possibly go wrong??
I know right...don't get me started.......two lazy guys from Utah with alcohol problem that couldn't hold jobs down. Later find out, the camper wasn't even there's, the owner was in the area working too, came and took it away from them because all they were doing was sitting around drinking and getting behind paying me.

I am actually ok with it. Riding a bike or a horse drunk is not the same as "driving " a motor vehicle drunk. So, they shouldn't be treated the same under the law. This was long overdue. To think you could go to jail for a year and lose your license or cdl for riding a bike around at .08% is absurd to me.

I'm still stunned they are currently treated the same. I had no idea.

I'd rather our legislature (jokey though they may be, at times) working on this rather than the incredible abortion thing going on in NY right now. I know I don't know much about it, but it honestly makes me ill, thinking about it.

If one-fourth of what I've heard is right, man!

People say we should sell CA. I think NY should go first.

It’s disgusting. They want to protect every life at the border but will kill babies and cheer when the law passed. Also think capital punishment is terrible. If that’s not messed up I dont know what is.

Wild, crazy, terrible times we are in. The end may be near

I can't say you're wrong. People have said "the times are wicked, surely the end is near" for thousands of years. But this is about the most disgusting thing I've ever heard of. I mean, individual people are nuts. There's always some individual wacko who does something appalling. But this is an entire governing body!

I can't fathom it.

What if you are .08 and walking home and trip and fall into the street and get plowed over. Can we walk home drunk?

Should we make booze only legal in your own household?

Actually the next step, not that I think there would be regulate booze at home. Sounds crazy and it is but I would be willing to bet that a lot, maybe most, law enforcement officers will tell you that a bulk of their problems come from people who drink at home "unchaperoned".

Poor, lazy druggies in a trailer court. Drunk and fighting and beating their wives.

Not judging or stereotyping just calling a spade a spade.

I'm pretty sure it's not the .08 drinkers who are causing many of the problems. Have any of you ever been tested to actually see or feel what .08 feels like. Not necessarily proud of it but at .08 I don't feel any different than before I had the first beer. Certainly not where I'm off-balance or falling. Not encouraging drinking and driving but I'm pretty sure not many States Attorneys have prosecuted many DUI's at .08.

Not pushing for a weaker DUI level but just pointing out that a bicycler at .08 is unlikely to cause an accident.

You're right to a point however it was explained to me on a couple occasions something like "you woldn't believe what the people who think they are too fancy or too professional to go to the bar are doing to each other at home."

I think the public intoxication law can do just fine in case someone is really a danger on their bike. Is there a bike helmet law in ND? Maybe there should be lol. The first thing to mind was I think it was Bismarck that had so many people raising hell over all the new bike lanes taking up space and being rarely used. Maybe the after work bar crowd can put them to use about 8 pm every evening.

There are only two reasons for an adult to ride a bike. Home from the bar, or too retrieve your truck from the bar the next day.

haha reminds me of a story from a back in the day. Chick goes home with buddy when bar closes well it didnt work out and he didnt want to make her walk home so he gave her the bike he had hanging in the garage to ride home. Well we went to get the bike the next day and both tires were completely flat. I would have loved to see her trying to ride that.

I seem to remember a story from a buddy of mine from shortly after college. He had ridden his bike to the bar, and then ended up leaving with a lady. As he walked out with her, he had to ask her if he could throw his bike in the back of her SUV...haha.

what is the new seat belt law?

No different than the old seat belt law. You must wear them. The difference is now they can pull you over for not wearing them, whereas before they had to have a different reason to pull you over (speeding, taillight out, etc), then they could get you for the seat belt violation too.

It really falls under the "if we're going to make a law, why don't we enforce the law?", and "why would we make new laws, we can't make it any illegal-er?".

Which is all part of the greater legislative problem, IMHO. If they're not legislating, they're going to lose their jobs.

No idea what.08 feels like but I'm all to familiar to what .28 feels like.
