Jack Russels are bad***

Poor dog now has to get that snake taste outta his mouth.

Went hunting in Namibia in 2007. One evening we are sitting with our PH around a campfire, enjoying some beverages. He had two Jack Russel's as pets. The dogs start going nuts, barking at a woodpile next to the house where we were staying. The PH goes to investigate with his flashlight and the next thing he's running into the house screaming "cobra"!! The dogs continue to go bananas, trying to dig their way under the woodpile. He returns with his wife, both of which are wearing those cheap safety glasses, they look like ski goggles. He has a .20 gauge shotgun and she has a spotlight. The PH advised it was a spitting cobra, thus the need for the glasses (in the end, he was not lying, there was venom on those glasses). He further tells us he'd prefer the snake would crawl out so the dogs could kill it, that dealing with spitting cobras is pretty damn dangerous. That plan does not work out after about 15-20 minutes, so he proceeds to touch off a shot. He cripples the snake pretty good, not to mention tearing the s#&t out of his siding and a downspout. He's able to retrieve this snake from behind the woodpile and throw it to those two Jack Russel's. They proceed to rip that snake apart and eat everything but the head in about five minutes. The PH told us those dogs are hell on snakes like cats are on mice. Most of the ranchers in the area keep that breed around for exactly that reason. It was an interesting learning experience, to say the least.

A buddy of mine in MN uses them for coon hunting. I guess they are the cats ass for that.
