Upon further research waters density increases a fair bit as it gets colder, and the warmer, lighter cheap ass vodka will float on the top of the water. So according to science it should work pretty well.
But truly only one way to find out.
Migrator man. I say cheap ass vodka because it's about the cheapest crap I know of. Everclear would definitely work. But why pony up the extra moneys

I believe that 40% vodka is 80 proof. And whether it's cheap rot-gut, or top shelf, should make no difference.

Back in the day, I'd have swum across the Missouri River for some. No longer. Charcoal and coffee can for me.

However, it's been said before. Take care to keep your mono away from the warm/hot coffee can, for obvious reasons.
