Seems like the typical knee jerk reaction. Anything I've seen claimed it was a long ways from being affordable/profitable. A quick search claims $17 a pound to manufacture. Label it for what it is and let the consumers decide.

Cells are removed from a cow and placed on a wafer. That has to be irrigated with blood. Not just any blood. The purest blood comes from a calf still in the mother's womb.

Cows are slaughtered and the meat goes one way while the calf goes another. Removing the blood, keeping it oxygenated, irrigating a wafer of cells to make them grow is a very expensive process.

Tell that to the housewife making the purchases.
