Thinking about going next weekend to do some fishing and camping. Just wondering where everyone likes to stay. Also what can a guy expect as far as fishing.

A lot of people camp at The Crossing or Bayshore, both are nice areas. The fishing can be good. It typically starts to pick back up in September.

Tenting, the crossing has some really good spots both east&west side, centrally located, west side is more the fishing side, eastside gets a little busy…there are two or three really nice tent sites at the dam, at Mel Reiman rec area, tucked back in a wooded area, there is a little ice cream store, I believe they sell beer and pizza too(new owners this year) nice beach and play area if you have kids, draw back is may have to boat a bit further to find fish…be prepared for an onslaught of white bass in the evening…super fun if you have kids, highly annoying if you don’t
other than Bayshore most of the sites on Ashtabula are Corp owned and you need to book them online
