The old dewalt drill finally has bit the dust, well the batteries anyways. New batteries are about the cost of a brand new cheap drill. Do any of the manufacturers run drill trade in events anymore? I don't really need one of those brushless drills but I would if I got credit for my old one.

Anyone know if/when they run those kind of sales?

If you are in Bismarck, run up to Sears. Last time I was in there they had a drill/driver combo (two tools) along with a pair of batteries and charger for about $20 more than what I had just paid for two of their 20V batteries at Lowes about five days earlier.

Not that I needed new drills (they are the same as what I have). I think they have been pretty much giving away the tools the last 15 years for the price of the batteries when you get a set on sale.

Anyway, worth a look if you're in the area.

They were doing that from just about day one. I would imagine the good stuff gets picked through a bit more each day.

I know the jewelry area was busy as hell a week ago. I guess 70% off does that to jewelry. Highest I've seen on tools though is a 20% discount.

That should tell you everything you need to know about jewelry mark-up! They're probably making money at 30% of what they were trying to retail it at.

Yeah, I wasn't in the market for sparkly stuff. Just wanted to use it as a checkout counter for other things. And nope, it was too busy!

I as far as tools I have been purchasing Milwaukee the M12 series. As a DIY these are compact, light and have enough power for anything I get evolved with.

I just got this combo for the KDRILL and very impressed. It had great reviews and comparisons when reading up on it. ALSO LIFETIME BATTERY REPLACEMENT.

If you are a DeWalt guy buy something like a DCD996B so if you decide to get a KDrill it will work great. I bought a next to new on Ebay for $100.00
