They start very well. Especially the EFI models. My 800 has seen some doozy -30 or more mornings and popped off every time.

If them cool Rangers are like my plain jane Polaris 550 sportsman, it is always a good idea to make sure you change your battery regularly. Dummy me failed to change mine out this fall so my rig pooped out on me and decided it didn't want to start after my day of ice fishing. Cold weather was the cause of that warn out battery I am sure. I sure was glad a good Samaritan fisherman about 100 yards away from where I was fishing towed me back to shore with his snowmobile. Funny thing about me walking over to ask him if he would tow me back...when I walked up and asked him thru his portable house..he zipped open the door and had just finished landing about a 5 lb walleye..ahahaa and was taking the lure out when I knocked..oops...I kinda felt like a pirate..hahhaha At any rate...He said he would tow me back to shore after a while..haha..So I said no problem and hiked back to my portable and dead on the ice atv until he came along and towed my pirating arse back to my truck. I did give the fella $20 bucks for his trouble. I am sure he was checking the color of my license plates.hahaha
Check them batteries folks!! haha

This is true. Also, carrying one of those portable "Jumper" units is not a bad idea.

I bought the 2016 crew in velocity blue a few weeks ago. I bought the heater and full glass, hard cab, hard doors but not tracks. I also have the turn signal/horn kit and mirror so I can drive it in town. I didn't buy a winch but can always add that. I think the tires will do what I want. I haven't used it much yet but it starts very easy in an unheated, uninsulated garage at -15 outside temp. I would definitely get the heater again and the complete cab.

My wife and I went and picked up our new ranger last weekend as well. It is a 2016 Ranger Crew 900 and we added the full cab with heater, tracks, winch and snow plow. I've put a little over 50 miles on it now and need to adjust the tension on the tracks before I head back out this weekend. I mounted my HDS 8 inside for GPS mapping and I also have a digger auger carrier I'm getting ready to mount on the side of the bed. It is awesome and I'm not sure I can ever go back to running an ATV on the ice and freezing.

I bought mine back in 2009. Got tracks, heater and a cab. I think I was into it for about $14,500. Now can barely get the bare machine for that. Prices have gone nuts.

What would a unit like the one pictured above w/tracks cost, ballpark? 20?

Fricken awesome
I am running one with just a windshield, roof, rear window, and regular tires. I am now thinking I suck, and need tracks, heaters, doors, and cooler friends...haha

Which one?

I am going to guess the first one was 18-19 grand range plus tax, license and insurance. The loaded up crew would be in that 26-27 grand range plus tax, license and insurance. Knock off a grand or two if they were good shoppers.

Forgot about labor to install accessories, cab, tracks. Free if did it themselves. Labor to install the cab and tracks on that crew would be $500+

Used snobears are that price range.

Sno bear are one season though, which is spendy unless you are out on the lake for a huge amount of hours. At least with these Rangers with wheels and tracks they are year round. IMHO these Rangers would give ME more bang for my buck.
