There was a news clip that came across my email from one of the outdoors newsletters I subscribe to about an "interview with the new record holder." God, I need to listen to that now! Can't wait to hear what he had to say before this broke.

At the end of the day, all a person has is their reputation. It takes an entire life to build it up and one small mistake to tarnish it. It's sad and pathetic that it had to come to this. And Tom was boasting about how great it was with his family getting to see it all and take part in the record fish. What does this situation teach your kids and younger sportsman who we're suppose to be teaching to be "ethical" and make the right decision? Also, his buddy who is a law enforcement official, should be real proud of himself. His buddy with held the truth from G & F that day, and he's out there to "Protect & Serve"!! What a piece of work..

You would think this would affect the career of the net man who is member of the sheriffs dept. How can his testimony ever be used in court again after he has lied to another enforcement agency. I think a member of the Bismarck Police or Burleigh Sheriffs dept was let go in the past year or so for these very reasons, basically stated they could never be trusted again in the court of law after they were caught lying once.

So, who verified it in the first place?? How can they say, conclusively, that it was hooked in the mouth and now after more digging (and a smoking gun video surfaces) they can backtrack and say it wasn't caught in the mouth?
